Aaarrrgh!

I'm beginning to tear my hair out!

My Brake light's are stuck on again, which is fine, I think I can handle that, been there before, but whilst pressing the brake peddal my ignition decided to turn itself on, without any keys in it. All lights diplayed etc. A clicking noise could be heard from under the bonnet, which I persume is a relay? When my foot is taken of the brake pedal the ignition turns off agian.

A few days ago I had the ECP light on display, not all the time though. A brake light was out, which has now been replaced, and no ECP light anymore.

Beginning to panic slightly that this time it might be costly.

Any help would be greatly received.

Thanks....

Have you replaced the Brake pedal switch? sounds like that could be the cause to your problems.

Id check the replacement bulb first. Does the ignition still play up with the replacement bulb taken out?

We replaced the brake light switch about seven months ago. When this happened before you could get the lights to go off by lifting the brake pedal slightly. That didn't work this time.

I've managed to get them off now, with a bit of pumping of the brake pedal, i think, and they seem to have stayed off.

I've managed to get the lights off now and the ignition problem hasn't happened again yet.

I'm waiting for it to happen again and then I'll remove the replacement bulb and see if this does the trick.

Is this the right thing to do?

It's worth a try. I remember when they facelift ed the vauxhall nova. You could take the hazard switch out putit back in upside down and press it on and that would turn the ignition on.

Strange things can happen with odd connections

And then with the corsa b, if it had a factory alarm and immobiliser, if you pulled the hazard switch out and turned it upside down you can drive off with the car!

Didn't know it followed onto the corsa. Then again the early ones used a nova loom til the ecotech engines came in
