i think the front disks are on the wrong way. this image is front left

this is rear right

i think rears are ok, front i believe are wrong, what your thoughts?

whats the worst case should i not change them round? i will do so if they are wrong ive done over 250 miles since fitting and no problems

if the other side goes in the same direction then swap left for right and vice versa. But yeah, i would say theyre on the wrong way but doubt it really matters.

Doesn't matter unless the cooling vanes are also curved.

+1, and I don't think ours are scott

Having your brake disc's that way around tend's to give a little bit more 'bite' and helps improve the braking. The downside to this is, that they tend to make a little more noise.

More importantly, does it annoy you and will people say 'are your discs the wrong way round?'.

I got them discs but the other way around and I think it would chase the water out better.

I've had mine on the same way as your fronts for a couple of years now with no problems !

As said I don't think it matters unless the fins inside the disk are actually curved too which if these are the mtec ones I don't think they are IIRC

you can put them either way round. They are intended to "slant" away from the front, but if you face them the other way they seem to bite a tad more, but create more noise and shorten pad life. :) :) :)

& eat pads........ :)

it doesnt make sense of eating pads more as they arent uneven the groved, so therefore nothing to catch the pads, i have emailed mtec for advice to see what they say, will post response

it annoys me now i know the fronts are on different to the rears lol, im picky though

No they don't !

Depends on what the manufacturer states????

My EBC's are the opposite way around to your fronts and correct as to the manufacturers spec........logic would dictate this is the correct way also, as due to centrifugal force the dust/etc gets flung out better.... B)

"Hi

There would be no right or wrong way to fit the discs.

I have attached a picture above of how we would recommend in fitting

Thanks

Claire "

that means my fronts are wrong then?

that means my fronts are wrong then?

Yep!!!!

that means my fronts are wrong then?

It's simply a case of swapping left and right round isn't it?

Yep!!!!!!....just on the fronts.....rears are ok.... B)

You don't have to change the disc's they say in there own word's there isn't a right and a wrong way to fit them, its just recommended to fit them as above to keep the noise down and reduce any increased wear rate cause'd by fitting them this way.

As stated before, having them the current way around will give more bite and have overall better braking. We fit the disc's this way both on our race and rally car's at work.

I bought a pair of Tar-Ox grooved discs many years ago which came with fitting instructions. Those instructions said that for 6 and 12 groove discs then fit them like the OP has on the front. For 20 and 40 groove discs then fit them like he has on the rear.

fitted mine like so

My ZERO SIXTY discs are on the same way as yours, which according to the above manufacturer is correct. They should come with 'L' and 'R' on them?

fitted mine like so

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ mine are fitted this way to.. there is no wrong or right way it just depends if you want more bite, a little more noise & shorter pad life.
