dying clutch?

Featured Replies

Car drives fine but I came to it this morn and my clutch pedal was on the floor. Strange I thought.

Checked fluid and its fine and clear, pumped it a few times but nothing then a friend said pull pedal up so I did and heyyy the car drives good again as if nothing is wrong.

Any ideas what I should be looking for? I'm thinking maybe a leaking cylinder?

DOH! yes exactly the same. so sounds like master cylinder then. are they easy to replace?

Had the same thing happen on a mkiv Golf I pulled the pedal up, & it never happened again!

There is a small plastic clip at the top of the pedal which is prone to breaking that causes the same issue.
