Hi guys,

When i start the car for the first time in a day, the engine coolant light starts flashing and beep 3 times. If i drive it for 5 mins before the engine gets up to temp and turn it off and back on it goes away, just wondering what the possibilities for it could be. i was having trouble with the battery and recently had that replaced, but its still come back since then.

The same thing happens on my Octavia. I did read on here that over time the contacts that monitor the coolant can get dirty/corroded and this can cause a problem. I believe if you give them a clean it may sort things out. Mine is at the dealers at the moment having some other work done and I have left the car there over night so that in the morning they can see the problem for themselves.

I'm being dumb here so forgive me just want to make sure .... is that the one i put the coolant into or a different bottle ?

Good idea, if it is easy to fix then hopefully i can do it my self, glad it wasnt causing damage to my engine or anything which was my main worry

took mine in to skoda to look at the coolant cause i have warrenty.

cost me £82 cause they update the ecu with some new software cause it not covered under warrenty.

gutted me cause whats a warrenty for? oh well
