Featured Replies

As above really chaps and chapettes. Im after an air filter and have been recommonded a BMC air filter, but im ot sure where to buy, which one to buy and once I've got it how and where do I fit it?

It's for a MKII Fabia VRS.

Thank you.

Itg maxogen ;-) - awesome gti website mate

Biased but ITG Maxogen. I bought mine from Revo and service was spot on.

Filter itself is lovely, gorgeous sound and adds a little more power.

Fits as per the below :

You got an illegal battery in there? ;)

Ok looks like i'll be buying the ITG Maxogen filter then, looks easily enough to fit, just do those jubilee clips and bam,!

Thank you.

Illegal battery? You mean the TMC box?

It's a pretty easy job to change over mate, looking about 10 mins max :)

i've been wondering about getting a new air filter to. might just go for a revo filter. is it worth paying the extra dosh and getting one of those induction kits?

all out performance the itgs the way to go. its pricey though.

i personally have a pipercross viper on mines.

Sorry bud I was going to PM you back when I got five minutes today but maybe easier to answer here.

It really depends what you want from the car, the Revo filter is good at doing exactly what it's meant to do, and that is to replace the OEM filter. It will give you very none/very minimal gain, you can save the money by just removing the sock on the OEM filter.

After having the Revo filter and changing to the ITG I can say without a doubt that it's well worth spending the extra money. The ITG kit was produced for this car and gives gains. If you want better performance from your car then go for this :)

Yeah, the ITG does sound great inside the car.

I'm having the car rolling roaded on 13th April at Awesome. I'll post the results.

cheers man, will look into that then. appreciated!

cant see where the ITG gets the Air from.

iam going to get my Batterie in the boot in the next few days ( with oem VW parts) if i have an hour left and geting the Polo GTI kit then .

whats the best panel filter??

k&n

Pipercross

revo???

To clean the pipercross or the revo do I need that oil like k&n or just water and soap??

thanks guys!!

Iv got the revo filter, there is no noticable diffrence(unless you mod the intake) but i would feel alot happier getting a remap with it rather than just the standerd one

As above? Anyone?

Not sure if it would fit, I'm sure you could probably get a reducer to make it fit.

Only problem I see is it's an open filter and these engines get very hot so it will suffer from heatsoak

This mirrors my thoughts on the Fabia ITG Maxogen. That duct behind the battery doesnt seem to have any cold air input from behind the headlight. Normally there is a void there on other VAG cars which goes all the way down to the front bumper, but on the Fabia it doesnt. So i cant see where its suking in air.

I wanted to do the Polo boot battery but i like to have the spare in the back for normal driving. The Braille battery up front works for me. However i was away with work for 9 days and thought i would test the life of the battery. When i got back there was still life in the battery but not enough to kick the engine over. Another guy in my work (jammydodger from here iirc) has just bought a braille battery for his Fabia vRS but its around twice the size of mine(still half the size of the std battery) so he should have much more battery life available, whilst still saving weight and having room for the ITG maxogen intake from the Polo. We should find out very soon if it fits, as hes got an ITG ready to be fitted plus hes got a Loba LO270 ready to be fitted. That'll be 2 vRS's running APR/Loba LO270 kits then

But having the smaller battery means i can fit the Polo filter which makes much more sense on an air flow point of view. The filter itself is the same though.

You really dont want an open cone intake in our engine bay. This engine bay gets hotter than any other car ive experienced. All an open filter would do is ingest hot engine air which would be detrimental to power. I think on this engine the only way forward is to go with an enclosed filter.

I wouldnt bother with the Forge from personal experience of having it and an ITG on my car. The Forge when i was at stage 2 was actually limiting my power.

There are companies out there who might be interested in fabricating one, so throw a few emails out and see. You might get lucky. Just highlight to them that the intake will fit the ibiza/polo and A1 as well as the vRS so its good for sales.

This is the only one listed for the 1.4L fabia on the k&n website, and it doesn't mention the vrs anywhere. I personally wouldn't go for one of those, as I'd imagine they'd suffer a bit from heat soak wouldn't they? Correct me if I'm wrong of course though. And in my opinion k&n aren't always the best as they do a wide range of kits for a big number of applications, as opposed to kits like the itg which is designed specifically for the Fabia vrs. So, it might fit, but I'd go for a different one.

This is not open air filter, this replaces your original air filter in the box ;)

This one fits 1.2 TSI and 1.4 TSI engines ;)

Coolio.

However in that case, its even more pointless. YOu might as well save the money and keep the stock filter. The stock intake is fine upto a stage 1 level of tune so 200-210Hp ish. After that it becomes restrictive.
