Bonnet Gas Struts.

Featured Replies

Is it possible to get these fitted to the fabias? How come it wasn't done from factory? For cheapness?

Any help/pictures would be appreciated.

  • The amount of times us vRS owners need to check our oil it may well be worth it

  • It's almost too simple for a step by step, but I'll see what I can do The hardest part was working out how to remove the existing bonnet strut

  • Milotec sells them http://milotec.de/in...c64983fa7fe7e72 scroll down the page ^^ and installation instructions: http://milotec.de/media/content/pdf/Fabia%20II%20Facelift/58305_11_2010.pdf?XTCsid=

Ask devonutopia - he has some for the MK1 which could fit the MK2...

Could? Easy job? :-)

Possible with a small piece of metal ear as adapter

Cheers 32kof. :D

I reckon they could be produced cheaper domestically, but I've not enquried about doing a template kit like the fabia 1 kit. I know the fabia 2 resulting kit would be cheaper as there's no need to fabricate an entire new bracket - just a piece of 90 degree angle plate.

this something you can get hold of or know more about devon/?

I wish. I could approach the people who make the fabia 1 brackets, but I would need a donor fabia 2 car, which is a tricky thing to manage.

As in to borrow it for a certain amount of time?

Just spoke to them and there is one in for some repair work now. Just might be great timing after all.....

Good good :)

Thank you devonutopia.

Sadly the car went back to customer before any template could be taken. If anyone in the Newton Abbot/south Devon area has a fabia 2 and they want a free kit made (as a template), let me know

Plus the arm for holding the bonnet up is bloody hot if the engine has just been running!
