DSG paddle extensions..........now fitted

Featured Replies

I've been contemplating getting a set of these for a while, but the only ones I've been able to find have been £200+ from the US

Please bear in mind that these are on a MkV Golf GTi steering wheel, not an Octavia vRS steering wheel, which is likely to have different shaped paddles

God bless eBay........

Are you sure they fit Octy paddles??

Are you sure they fit Octy paddles??

Should be fine if they fit VW and Audi paddles

Seeming as though I have a VW steering wheel, they should be just fine

I won the auction on 20th and they arrived today - 8 days from China is pretty reasonable

What's the quality of them like Brimma, are they reasonably heavy, as in are they not light and cheaply made, do they fit securely? cheers

Since I've got nothing to judge them against, this is a purely personal opinion of them, so if they don't meet other people's expectations, please don't blame me

They are not heavy, but they are 'solid' plastic, ie, they don't flex

The finish seems very good, no rough edges

The carbon inserts are obviously a carbon effect plastic gel type affair, which might sound horrific to some

BUT.......

you've got to remember you are paying £30 for these, not £200

Fit-wise, I don't know yet, as I haven't been out to the car to try them yet

They do come complete with pre-cut 3M-labelled sticky pads

Anyway, here are a few pics........make your own minds up

Just a point for everyone.

If you have a FL Octy with Paddle shift then the paddles are a different shape to the ones used in the VW Golf etc.

They are basically the same as the OSIR paddles i have pictured above but made from plastic. Looking at those covers Bryan has posted i can tell you now they won't fit.

I looked on the OSIR site but all they seem to list is VW and Audi which you say won't fit. Any idea which ones will?.

The facelift Octavia's paddles are the same shape as the new RS3 and probably the S3 as well. ;)

+1.

the vw paddle shifters will most definately not fit the octavia.

as Hedge said above - u'll need to buy the audi version of paddle shift extensions.

i've got my eyes on these - S2T Performance Audi DSG/Tiptronic Paddle Shifters
