dump valve for MKII VRS?

Featured Replies

Sorry guys yet another question from me.

Is it possible to get dump valves for the MKII VRS? I went on demon tweeks jsut but they only do it for the MK I ? Surely not?

Iv got the forge atmospheric one and its the most anoyying thing ever, soon as you lift ohh you get a loud "pssshhhtttt" noise and everyone outside tha car turns around expecting to see a bus braking

The atmospheric one does this? Hmmmmm interesting.

I have the BOV Spacer, was only on the car about 2 weeks as it sounded like a bus air braking and it felt like it leaked boost. Was planned on getting the upgrade BOV but I won't if the noise is rubbish

Any chance of a drive by video?

Get the recirculation one. Only a small chirp with a short induction pipe

I thought the recirc was the amospheric one?

If you just search on youtube youl find a few videos of them fitted to ibizas/polos and it sounds pretty much the same as the video.

Nae idea if its leaking boost not checked it on torque app yet, dosnt feel like it but you can catch it when its open and you can hear the boost rushing out.

Also its nearly impossible to lift off at all without it making some noise

If anyones really intrested though i could always make a video of it?

You can get an atmospheric blow off valve which vents to the atmosphere and makes lots of noise or the recirculation which recirculates the air and has barely any noise from outside the car and minimal inside. Also more of a chirp than a woosh.

I need to look harder. Thank you.

(seperate note to VRS-POwered, did you say that you've spoken to me before on another site?)

Recirc all the way unless you own an Escort RS Turbo!

Also, makes sense to put all that energy you used in compressing that air back into the inlet tract!

Brilliant ! LOL

Hahahaha !

recirc valve a pain when you have to fit valve in to inlet manifold but other then that its sound. by forge and you get gd instructions not the best but easy to work out

can someone with the retic valve fit a whistle or duck call onto the outlet for hilarity?

Lee how did you fimd the self tappimg screw to tighten? I really struggled to get them tight emough to hold the vaccum block down

Jonny i gueniunly cant distinguish if the noise is the bov or air brakes if im following a bus or truck :giggle:

Why do people want to change thie standard DV? My stock valve was happily accepting the 1.8Bar of boost that my high output map was asking for without any leaking. If it starts to fail id look into a change but since the Forge offering seems plagued with issues, im not worried abut swapping just yet.

I ended up cutting the self tap screws they are just far to long. I had to cut my first take off block off aswell ad one of the self taps deheaded and the block wouldn't slide of.

I just wanted a bit more noise to mine :p
