DSG Paddle shifter extensions by TID Styling

Featured Replies

Hey fellow Skoda drivers, my name is Dean and I'm from Belgium. I currently drive a 2012 Skoda Fabia II RS ( we don't call it VRS here  ). It's also my first topic here, so please be gentle!

I just wanted to show you my latest addition to my car, as it can be useful to some of you. I ordered some shifter extensions by TID styling.I bought them on the MTM website (see link below). They are great, and should be standard on the car, good solid feel and easier to reach for and find than the small standard ones. The only negative side is the price  (254€ w/o shipping!!). I also made a video which you can find on youtube with unboxing, install guide, detailed pictures and some of my first impressions.

They do look good, and I agree the OEM ones should be bigger, but I still don't think I could pay more than 50 Euros for them.

I agree totally, they seem ok but I would worry that they might come off after a lot of use. If they were cheaper I might take the risk but not at that price.

I know the price is high, but there arent a lot of alternatives! And don`t worry about them coming off, they're in place firmly.

Only time will tell that it stays that way.

How much! :-0

They must be hand crafted by vestal virgins for that money.

Tony :wonder:

Mate the Virgins would have to do more to me than make a paddle for that kind of cash! Lol

Thick question but... the + and - on mine light up so does this mean there'd be a wire to disconnect/remove or does it not matter?

You would just have to re-apply the double-sided tape if they did happen to come off. And didn't I see a "glue" option in your video?

It doesn't matter, you just stick these on the back of your existing paddle, so you can still see the + and - lighted up!

I didn't glue them on cause that would be permanent. I would only do that if the double-sided tape doesn't hold.

You won't regret it ;-). It makes shifting that more easier.

LOL

Nice but a little pricey for me.

I wouldn't have any worries about them staying stuck - provided the surfaces are clean, 3M VHB tape is incredibly strong. They use it to stick facades on skyscrapers!
