none really, they arent great imo, red though would be the ones to get if you do, but there are better pads out there tbh!

I've never rated them either. Avoid for the money.

Ferrodo DS2500 seem to be popular, but cost more than I paid for Pagid discs and pads all round. I don't see me bothering to upgrade anytime soon, unless it's different calipers altogether.

Ferodo and Brembo seem very pricey.

Are they worth it?

The lifespan of pads isn't a big deal to me, to be honest I don't use them a lot and by that I'm not being smart, I just mean I drive in 2 modes. Having fun or being economical.

When I need brakes I want them to be as good as possible but I'm not too fussed about overall last as I always replace well before they're gone anyway.

Again don't bother with that sh173! DS2500's all the way fella, good bite from cold and send you through the screen when hot. What more do you need. Simples!!!!

agree dont bother

fit ds2500

but lloyd dont drive it so standard will be fine for you lol

Ive worn my first set of pads i'll have you know :D

So these ds2500 seem to be the favs

What about groove discs and such ?

DS2500 pads with OEM standard 312 discs. Speak to Dave at Vagbremtechnic. He's the cheapest I've found for the Pads and a cracking fella to deal with.

Aaah what no funky patternd discs :(

lol

Groves can rust up when not used though

Oh and I have green stuff pads on the fabia. I've found them to be really good so far :)

The only EBC pads i've ever heard good things about are the Bluestuff and Orangestuff.

Neither of them are avaliable for the Octy afaik.

I'm not a massive fan of ds2500 personally, I had them on my Evo, and although they worked (well upto around 450bhp anyway) the amount of dust from them drove me nuts.

I think us guys will be ok then if they work well up to 450bhp lol. As for the dust haven't noticed but my octy is a weekend toy so doesn't get driven that much.

It prob didn't help that the car was white, but after a little bit of a "spirited" drive, there would be reddish orange residue all over the front wheels, and down the front doors.

Run Redstuff on mine found them to be good, not had any probs even after spirited drives, and very little in the way of dust even on black wheels, don't bother with the green they better for smaller and lighter cars

Standard discs and pads will do fine, i have bosch discs and pads and they are fine for road altho not for trackdays but never really expected them to be.

I class myself as a spirtied driver but am finding my discs are starting to rust up abit on inner edges from lack of use

Lloyd I have red stuff pads and drilled and grooved EBC discs and IMO I rate them done two track days and they have still got loads of life the stop car very well also,

Not trying to blast anyone's opinions or past experiences but I think they must have at least change the disc material as people stayed they wore badly whereas mine are lasting well front set cost me £215 from ecp with small discount

Just my 2p worth

Red stuff are the best choice out of them :)

I have Green Stuff in both the Octy and my 968. Very pleased with them in both cars.

I ran green stuff on mine they were crap.

OE pads are far superior than green stuff and cheeper.

redstuff are good, i run them on my octy vrs with grooved and drilled discs,i also run redstuff on my mk1 sierra xr4x4 (janspeed turbo) 255 bhp with cosworth four pots.found them more than upto the job!!although friend is a serious trackday man and recommends yellowstuff....

Got Reds all round and hate them. Take ages to heat up. Much preferred the standard pads. Will go for the Ferodo DS next time, or back to standard.

lol

Another vote against red stuff

Just take too long to get to temp

Even when at temp, nothing special given price

oe spec mintex/pagid or DS

I have green stuff in mine, they are pants when cold but good when warm, I wouldn't recommend them, I'll go for standard pagids next time.
