450 miles in a vRS 45 mpg.

Featured Replies

During Wednesday.

Car is 30 months old & 16,000 miles.

Engine done 11,000 since rebuild.

running on, 5 w 30 Mobile 1 & Tesco Momentum.

205/40/17 Dunlop tyres.

1.5 Degree celsius ambient in the middle of the night & starting with a full tank.

(No spare wheel, tools or rear weights carried, so 40kg or so lighter in the ass..)

after 10 minutes the oil was at 86 o*C (it kept showing that temp, never reached 90 o*C)

Ambient temp was up to 3 o*C after 30 miles, then mostly 7 o*C during the journey.

Lights on and no A/C and beautiful dry smooth roads.

Average MPG's showed at a constant speed over a few miles on the flat..

50mph , 61.9 MPG

60mph 53.3 MPG

70mpg 42.2 MPG

& sometimes 25 - 35 MPG

So 100 miles of 60mph speed limit & 350miles of 70 mph limit, no traffic.

driving solo and 45 MPG of petrol actually used.

No oil used.

Suits me sir.

bang on what its supposed to do George :)

What speeds gave 25-35?

One example would be,

0-40 or 50 mph before the Coolant has warmed & the oil has reached 50*oC.

Another can be on the Motorway when the road is more uphill than down.

Is that what you mean?

And what other car can do that and take 2 flat pack wardrobes to 60mph in around 7secs (estate that is).
