Ibiza Cupra engine revisions - will the Fabia get these?

Featured Replies

I must say I like it :)

Its only a slight map change to set it apart from the current Ibiza.

I have new Ibiza Cupra in Monsoon Grey, Leather & Brake upgrade on order

& expect it to arrive with exactly the same engine in the current newest vRS's. I will be happy if it matches my current early vRS.

I was after the 3 door and not worried about looks.

That is Silver & the Grey exteriors from the configurator.

Looks lovely mate to be fair :)

Power and torque outputs look no different to the existing engine. Just supposed to be a bit cleaner and more frugal.

Is it just not an official change to the CTHE engine, possibly?

Torque is 184 compared to the book Fabia's 180. Not that I'd notice a difference.

Does look good but I need the 5 doors.

So it's 2 vrs already in your possesion + 1 Cupra facelift on order? lol! What are you doing collecting 1.4 TSI's??

He's taking all the parts that have melted/broken from the lack of oil out of all the engines to make one that works.

Thats wrong, the CAVE engine Fabia already put out 184lb/ft torque at exactly the same RPMs.

After driving my mates ibiza cupra for a day i can honestly say i prefer it to my vrs,i find the interior to be much nicer than my vrs and i also prefer the driving position i actually feel like im sat IN the car rarther than on it

How was the ride quality in the Ibiza?

Misses has insisted I get a 5 door though.

Shame the ST only came in FR guise otherwise i'd probably be driving one of those. I guess you can remap the 150PS twincharger to 180+ though? Was launched a week after my vRS order went in...

They call the A1 185bhp, (it is 182bhp)

& the Polo GTi 178bhp, and they get them the lower Tax Band along with the Ibiza 150bhp,

then the A1 & GTi get the same MPG figures as the Ibiza 150bhp.

VAG just messed about with the extra 25kg weights on the vRS Hatch to sand bag it over the A1 & GTi.

It will be interesting to see how long the GTi stays available after the New Cupra comes out.

Maybe the Polo Blue GT will get the promotion. or a hotter Polo GTi.

Ibiza does seem to be the nicer car, if you don't need 5 doors (which I do).

There's also the price difference...unless they are discounting it back to Fabia levels?

Price difference is about £1,600 after discounts, but if you want Nav, Bluetooth and climate it closes the gap as they're standard on the Ibiza.

Ibiza apparently has higher residuals too...

Now that seat looks amazing

George that looks amazing my friend!

I'll be sniffing around seat very soon I think

hello i have done a lot of stereo installations on many cars and help pros put stereo, nav and screens into lots of cars , i have a vrs which i have have put a simple system into

the doors on the vrs are so well built door card ,metal plate then strength bar just to upgrade the door speakers it is so hard to sound deaden the doors but got it done ,so last week i helped a friend to put a system into a new Ibiza Cupra we had to take the door cards of to upgrade the speakers the only way to do this is to remove the glass from the door then you can take the door card of which then has nothing much behind it so poor quality compared to the vrs no metal plate just a big hole then the strength bar which was very small ,

never ever seen this in a car before crazy way of taking a door card of ,as they say may look nice but what is underneath counts to ,the car must pass a crash test but i know which one i would rather be sat in my little pocket rocket skody .,still the new seat is a good looking car

In terms of comfort it's similar to the vrs but handling is loads better in standard form gives you much more confidence in the bends compared to the vrs,if I didn't need the four doors for my little lad I'd have the Ibiza
