Which spark-plugs is used as standard in vRS?

Featured Replies

As the title says : which ones are used as standard?

I've checked some sites here in Sweden and they quote 2 different spark plugs!

1 from Bosch (FR6HI332)and one from NGK (PZFR6R).

Would appreciate if someone who knows it could tell me or check it in their car =).

I don't have the stock-ones left, otherwise I would have checked it myself =/!

Mine had Ngk plugs only number on them is

03c90560ia

NGK PZFR6R is the standard plug.

part number 03C 905 601 A

NGK PZFR6R8EG

FACT! lol... I had some ngk 8's in , and my car isn't high enough tune for them (I was given them free) they were too high temp range.... I asked the dealer to fit "proper" VW plugs for the car

the above is what they fitted :)

Sharky, what issue did the 8's produce in an non tuned car?

Just out of curiosity.

misfires, I dont think the temp range is right, if the temp range isn't right on the plugs they dont spark properly........ the engine need to be a hotter place for 8's I beleive...... I reccon the 1.4 tsi is better on 7's ;)

Cheers buddy, will bear that in mind.

Latest standard part number is now 03C905601B.

NGK PZFR6R does seem to be equivalent to Bosch FR6HI332

Are NGK BKR7EIX (2667) Iridium plugs a good choice for the 1.4 TSI CAVE engine in standard tune?

the 7's are fine for standard tune :)

I've fitted the NGK PZFR6R laser platinum plugs in my one

Swapped plugs today (as a precaution) after 10k miles on replacement engine. It is possible that my original plugs were reused on the replacement engine, in which case they've done 25k miles. The VW NGK plugs that came out all looked OK, but if anything showing slightly rich running (light brown deposits around electrodes, remaining areas black soot). Fitted NGK BKR7EIX gapped as supplied (0.7 to 0.75 mm). Ran fine on test run and nice smooth idle.

Lets hope that it is not the practice of any workshop using Used plugs from the old engine when replacing engines.

That is greed just too far,

surely Skoda allow for new plugs in the cost of having a new engine installed.

As they would, new oil and oil filter, even if not an Air Filter.

That is why getting the Service Book properly written up is very important,

and the Cars Mileage and the Engines Mileage being clear.

All details of the work done should be clearly available for Future Owners of that vehicle.

Fair enough if someone does go to 40,000 miles by the cars mileage, service record and have plugs changed again.

But someone might think, that was a new engine only 10,000 miles ago, the plugs will be fine,

and they could be getting on for 3 1/2 year old and can be 40,000 plus miles on them.
