Featured Replies

There is a service action related to heated seats. Number of action is 74C7. You can call your dealer for more information.

Whats one of these? i have heated seats :-O

Check with the Dealer on a Re-call, to see if yours is included.

A new member up in the vRS Register (top of page) mentioned the recall on his car in his first post 5th Oct.

Seats being replaced.

Faulty heated seat switch i would imagine. But the elements if the seats are being replaced,

Another member in the Project Builds had his seat smoking i think, also a vRS.

Just strikes me as abit unusual really. Why don't you tell us what this service action actually is?

Another user (on another forum) wrote that heating elements were replaced during this action. I'll visit my dealer next week. They told me they are doing short verification and they are replacing heating elements in seats if needed. That's all I know.

Cheers!

Called the dealer, my car isnt included thankfully. Apparebtlt ita been out a month and only affected a few cars in UK.

I was at dealer for initial verification. They are partly disabling seats to check part number of heating element. My part number was on "black list" so dealer ordered new parts and I will need to leave car for whole day. They need to disassembly seats from the car and exchange heating elements in both seats.

I've also had my heated seats replaced/ refitted after a visit to the dealer (2011 Fabia vrs)

Not sure exactly what they replaced yet as I've not had the dealer report but I will post any information when I get it.

Took them a whole day to sort the seat though.

Up until they actually told me there was a fault I was completely unaware as I'd not used them.

But WINTER IS COMMING so glad they are fixed. :|

They did mine as well, last month something to do with the connectors errrrrrrrroding errrrrrroding and the connections not being made properly

The 74C7 campaign is for the heater elements on the seat.

The base cover has to be disconnected at the rear, pulled forward to access the part number and it has to be checked.

If it's not a certain one the base heater elements have to be replaced.

The wording is that there's been cases of the elements becoming open circuit and hence not working. There is a noticeable difference in the size of the element used on the newer ones.

It is just the elements that are replaced, not the padding or the cover.

Cars are probably being advised to be left all day as it's a 2-3hour job (assuming both seats need doing)

Bump.

Just to show that 1 Year on Skoda have still not done a Recall & notifying Registered Keepers,

they just do a Service Campaign, and if you do not Use Skoda Dealers you might not be told.

eg

& people think, Toyota etc have lots of Recalls.

But that is because they do not do, 'Secret Service Campaigns',

like Skoda , VW, Seat & Audi.
