The Number i have is,  '03C115561B'  (just type that number into Google)

for a 1.2 TSI 2008 on for engine code, CBZA & CBZB

The Skoda Dealers part desk will provide the correct one if you have any doubt.

** Just because on Ebay it says 'Genuine VW,Skoda, SEAT,Audi part', i would not trust that they are.**

'D' shows as being from 2010 on,

but sorry, no idea i just buy the filter with the number i posted & 'B',

Are you doing your own Oil & Filter changes between Services done professionally, or supplying the Filter.?

Or is the car now out of Warranty.

Have you bought a new Sump plug?

Ahh right, mine is a 2011 car so the filter is the correct one, I had it serviced at an independent VW specialist who could service it under warranty as he is VAT registered but I wasn't happy that he put a FRAM oil filter on instead of a genuine one ! Happy Now ;-)

Incorrect, you need to use OEM parts, manufacturer spec lubricants etc. In most cases VAG will only accept claims if original parts have been fitted. Even then you'll have an uphill struggle.

Fram filters are aftermarket quality and pretty much rubbish - Google the reviews.

Unfortunately now its fitted and the engine has been run with it, I  fear your warranty on the engine is now void.

All parts etc must be documented on your invoice in great detail, the manufacturer will also be interested in traceabilty of parts, to ensure the invoice is genuine.

My independent reckons the only safe way is for the owner to buy all the parts and oil from the dealer and hand them to him to do the job with.

What is Incorrect, my statement that the VW Specialist must know.?

The OP has got the correct filter, he never used a FRAM filter,

he bought and has a VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat Filter used,

as long as it is a Genuine one and not a Copy/Fake.  Which are now very common.

His comeback will be on the Independent VW Specialist if he has Invalidated the Warranty with Skoda.

Only if it came to there being some issue with the Engine and requiring a Warranty Claim.

Not sure, but the way I read the op's posts is the indie fitted a fram filter and the op went out and bought a genuine Skoda filter and presumably changed it. If the fram had been fitted, and engine run, then the Skoda warranty will be void wrt engine claims.

Its irrelavent that the filter was subsequently swapped out for a genuine one. The invoices and traceability will show the discrepancy.

Not even sure if he has the New OME filter on yet,

but if it had been bought from a Dealer there would be little doubt on getting the correct one.

They know the Filters Numbers.

At least if bought at a Dealership and some Copy/Fakes get into the Supplies you have comeback when you have a receipt,

Any bought online really increase the risks, even if  the Warranty being valid is not as issue.

Just perfect fakes around in every part these days, perfect packaging/boxes as well.

and some in packaging that stands out a mile as being so wrong.
