Gigaro wheels

Featured Replies

really fancy a set of gigaro wheels but the machine turned face how common where these on the vrs

about 20-25% of them came with those wheels i'd say, White is probably rarest, Black with the silver lip about 30% and Silver about 35%

Of course all estimations but would sound about right

I wouldnt bother getting white... ive been through 2 sets and about to start my third due to the lacquer flaking off :S

and they are a nightmare to keep clean.

They are called dark chrome. Many were replaced under warranty due to corrosion under the lacquer, commonly refered to as white spider. Best inspect any used one's closely near the centre and up the machined surfaces.

There is a set for sale on eBay £200 collection though

Iv got some on mine

There's a a set of yellow ones on eBay if you want to stand out from the crowd.

any ideas why certain monte carlos came with gigaro and others did not

A member on here collected a Monte Carlo new and moaned that it had Gigaro on, and complained,. and me and others on the Forum said the Dealer had swapped them,

as i remember it, Skoda UK & the DEaler Confirmed they sent some out from the Factory with Gigaro Fitted,

so that was maybe a Shortage at the Factory of Monte Carlo Wheels or an error.

The Skoda CEO said they planned 3,000 Monte Carlo and produced 20,000,

only 6,000 or less in the UK though.

You might find the thread on the Monte with Gigaro,

it was an odd time, because Monte Carlos were not selling well, and they had to do Techs to get them shifting,

and there was hardly reason for an Alloys shortage on Right Hand Drive cars.

Looked like a Dealer Swap at the time.

Maybe as more vRS & Monte Carlos were being reported as Pulling to the left.

OP If you're looking for Gigaro wheels and find a white set up for private sale could you PM me. I had a set stolen recently in the Kent area.
