Whats The Thin Line Down My Windscreen

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the thin line is on my windscreen, it runs vertically down from behind the mirror to about 2/3 the way down the screen.

My thoughts are it's an antenna for something but what?

Radio aerial, so if you ever need a new windscreen make sure the company fitting it know when you order it.

Cheers

So does it have two aerials then

As it also has a short stubby roof aerial

Yeah seen it before, Nissan called it diversity aerial but they used an extra element in the rear heated screen.

I'm not saying it isn't, but I've never heard of Skoda putting a radio antenna in the front windscreen.

Roof, rear window, rear side window (some estates), but not the front screen.

The dual radio antenna is called diversity. Look on Wikipedia for a good explanation as to how it works.

My guess might be heated front windscreen. But that usually doesn't manifest itself in a line either.

Any chance of a picture?

My 2011 Roomster SE had one in the screen, and the dealership informed me it was an aerial, but that's no certainty of me being told the truth!

I think it was also documented on Briskoda about the same time, maybe a search would find it.

It's an Ariel for FM

The End

Yup, I was being polite as I now have a Yeti  , but a Roomster forum search under aerial reveals all.
