Nice, thanks. That looks quite like my current map. Very notable difference than stock in mid-range.

APR stage 2 tune installed today... Car is a bit smoother again as opposed the running with stage 1 with dump pipe (was running a bit rich). First impressions... car is much quicker. Torque steer has come back again with the extra power. Hoping to run it on the dyno this Thursday.

wich stage 2 file do you use ? iam gonna drive to apr next week in hopes for an updade since my software is allmost 3 years old

Don't know the exact version I got but I am pretty sure it is the updated CAVE version which can be uploaded without opening the ECU first.

talked to my APR dealer , waiting for him to call me back . hope they got something . do you still have all the fancy options from the software . Anti theft and limp mode ?

Great work, I like the ceramic coating, great idea. 

I wish you went for tuned exhaust headers, this is where the power lays really, still, great job!

Well here are the results.

Sorry this is the only result I have. These are about the 4th and 5th runs. Dyno was a friends and this was the first time he had run a DSG car. The power is the kilowatts at the wheel. On the first few runs we came close to 140kw at the wheels. The other scale on the graph is the air/fuel mixture ratio which was to make sure the tune was safe.

 

In the future I think I will get another graph from somewhere else. However as you can see the power is very linear. The dips in the graph are just the gear changes.

 

BTW... The car was wheel spinning all the way through second gear and most of the way in third gear.

It is not very usual to see dyno plotted against kph and not rpm but still, curve looks nice and smooth.

Yeah, I can't get much info out of this graph either, other than that the power delivery is quite smooth and constant. No clue on torque though. Do I see 132kw wheel hp? Sounds safe and strong.

To be honest. I am not real happy with the feedback I got as it was very limited, but in general I am very happy with the results from my tune. The mechanic has a 500hp Track Silvia and a Suburu 22B and he was still very impressed with the little Skoda. He thought it was a 2 litre turbo and spelt it Scoda until I corrected him...lol. At present there are about 3000 Skoda's sold a year in Australia....so still not a a big share of the 1 million cars sold a year in total here. Output on the graph was just over 132kw at the wheels.

Just out of curiosity is this the original engine or a 2nd engine and is a CTHE or the CAVE?

 This is the original CAVE motor. It was built in May 2012 (so last of the CAVE's) it has all of the CAVE updates before they stopped production. Still running the original spark plugs and internal. Only factory upgrade done was the breather valve mod done in December 2013. Currently just over 30,000km old.

It is a bit of a unknown package here in OZ. Most people laugh at it at first until they see the times and the vehicles it is matching for pace.

AFR is good to see, an important check. In the case of twincharger motor they run very rich above 5.5k rpm to simply cool the combustion chamber. AFR and spark advance at the top end will be largely decided by the EGT. At normal driving the cat temp sensor shows around 700C, hammer it and it goes above 900C and I've seen mine over 1kC.

 

BTW, 140 at the wheels is roughly 224bhp at the flywheel. Depending on the EGT you could try to lean it out a little bit more. Do you run oil cooler and high performance IC?

Running a Wagner Performance intercooler (a bit lighter). As a general rule the dyno's in OZ are pretty honest as opposed to the very 'happy dyno's' in Japan. I am planning to going to a VW specialist for another run soon so that I can compare to the Golf R's and Audi S3's.

New car warranty runs out in 2 months. Stage 1 was done in April last year. This was my first new car so not used to waiting to mod it...lol. :mmm:
