Central used stock

Featured Replies

I have been looking on the Skoda UK website at used Octavias and have seen a few that are listed as central stock that can be delivered to any dealer. Has anybody ever bought one of these or do you know where they come from to end up with Skoda themselves rather than a local dealer?

There also seems to be a range of prices depending on where you say you are located. I saw a difference of up to £1000!

These cars will be ex fleet cars. Most will be ex daily rentals (up to a year old) but some will also be Skoda staff cars (Area Managers etc).

Rather than buy cars 'willy nilly' these will be kept in a compound. Yes, you would be buying blind but ALL cars will have remainder of warranty so no real issues there.

With regards to price, the ex rentals will have higher mileage than the 'Skoda' cars, plus the Skoda cars generally will have an option or 2 added - not of great significance but it will affect the price a little.

Hope that helps.

Back in November I got a decent deal on a 1.4 TSI Elegance Estate which I saw on the website.  It was 7 months old with a very reasonable 7200 miles on the clock and in virtually new condition.  Although my local dealer complained about not making any profit on the deal he still agreed to get the car for me (I think it came from Chester?) and offered me a fair P/X for my old car.  I don't know anything about the history of the car beyond the fact that it was registered new to Skoda UK but it was in beautiful condition and certainly hadn't been abused.  The mileage suggests staff use rather than hire although mine doesn't have any extra options.  :(

I'd say talk to your dealer but read this thread first: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/350356-ghost-car/

You can tell by the first letter of the reg number where/who had the car, Cars starting with the letter " K " are ex managers cars.

My friendly dealer told me which cars to avoid, i.e. Ex rental and long and short lease cars but I can't remember the letters.

All central stock cars are on there system along with the reg numbers so he/she will know where the car has come from.

I posted this in another thread, my local dealer told me this         Hope it Helps

Intresting subject, was talking to my local dealer yesterday after looking at the new Fabia and we were talking about ex skoda HQ cars.

He told me keep away from reg numbers starting with  " F "  Daily rental cars, " G " are long term rental ( lease cars ), " K " are  Ex Managers cars, " M " cars that have been at Milton Keynes HQ, " O " Press cars or test cars ( Car Mags etc or for Clarkson to thrash round a circuit )

Think I've got them the right way round. He had a list on the PC with  cars available on there system for sale within the whole group

Very interesting.

Before I put my personal plate on it, the registration of my Elegance was DE14 SXC which doesn't seem to fit into the scheme!

My last Octavia Vrs was registered in Chester DA11 HYL, as is yours. It was a Skoda Pool car, I was the second owner and Skoda being the first

Also, that pattern dosent always work. A lot of lease cars have O registrations. Just depends where it was registered.
