New Warranty for Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

The 3 year warranty for my VRS runs out at the end of next month.  I've had an email from Skoda offering me an extended warranty and when I went through the process it comes out at £165, which I assume is for a year as it didn't say anything and I didn't go all the way to the buy option.  I've got the car on PCP which runs out next Aug so I'll be changing it then.  Is it worth buying the Skoda warranty or are there comparable, cheaper warranties available?

Best look at that again.

A Skoda Approved Extended Warranty with Car Care ltd has been £399 for 12 months and £547 for 24 months up to recent times.

£165 would be a steal, and sounds a bit Unreal.

Call up Skoda UK Customer Services and Enquire, or a Skoda Dealership, or go on with the Application until you get to the T&C's.

If you are not keeping the car after another 13 months i would not pay extra for an Extended Warranty,

if the car has a Full Service History, then Skoda will need to look at Goodwill if there was an Engine or DSG Failure.

Be sure that the car is properly checked at the 3 Year Service, Brake Fluid Changed, Steering all OK etc,

So any Warranty Work done,

then the MOT carried out, and wing it for 1 year.

Has the car needed the DSG Service Campaign work?

& has it been done?

Here's a screenshot of the price:

Not read the policy booklet though so I'll take a look at that in a bit.  I got 3 years fixed (I think) servicing with it and It's having it's second service next week as well as it's first MOT cos it's 3 years old.

Not heard anything about the DSG Service Campaign work so would I have to call Skoda and ask them if mine needs doing?

Cheers, Never seen anything like that.

What is the title of the offer?

Looks a Bargain even taking the £250 Excess into account if it covers major mechanical components and electrical.

?

is this just an Extended Warranty, or is there stuff on Skoda Assist as well.?

..................

The service campaign started from May 2014 on the DQ200 DSG is  *34F7*

Not all DSG 7 Speed Twindry Clutch 2009-2014 need it done, but Customer Services or the Dealer should be able

to tell if yours need the Oil Changed from Synthetic to Mineral and a Software Update for the DSG.

I just received an email from Skoda titled "Your ŠKODA warranty cover is ending soon" with the following text and a link to clink on, it's just for extended warranty as far as I can tell:

Dear ,

Your ŠKODA warranty cover is coming to an end on 01/09/2015. The good news is that you can continue benefiting from cover with a ŠKODA Extended Warranty.

Whether you choose to cover all or some of the key components of your ŠKODA, you will have the peace of mind that your vehicle will be repaired at a ŠKODA Retailer, by ŠKODA Trained Technicians using only ŠKODA Genuine Parts.

If you would like to benefit from Extended Warranty cover, click on the link below and in a few simple steps your cover will be set up.

I'll give my dealer a ring and ask about the service campaign.

Thanks for posting.

That is a very good deal for any vRS owner with a car going out of Warranty,

or any Skoda Owners.

?

Could you look at the Initial Disclosure Document please,

Is is a just a Declaration on the car having a full Service History, no known issues  and no Modifications etc ?

Where would I find that dicslosure doc?  Is it in my car docs I got when I bought it?

I spotted it in the Screenshot you posted, a PDF

All that doc is about is the The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) checklist you get when you've been offered insurnace etc.  Nothing about the car whatsoever.

Sounds similar to what I paid for mine and that was for everything for 1 year.

Just spoken to Skoda Customer Services and my car is not part of the service campaign for the DSG.

Is this just a unique link for yourself or is there a generic one for that? Mine runs out in sept but I'm the 3rd owner so I doubt I'll get contacted. And for less than 200 quid I'd snap this up straight away

I think it's just a unique one for me cos my car details are already filled in when I open the link.  However, I found this which look s the same form as mine so give it a try:

I like this very much, Zom. My current Skoda-approved warranty is due to expire next month and the dealer is quoting £400 for a further year.

Something strange has happened - I selected £250 excess and the cost was £230 - I also got a quote for nil excess and the cost was £335, so decided to go for the £250 excess - however, I don't know if I slipped up somewhere, but my confirmation has come through with nil excess at £335. I might give them a call or email them, as it obviously makes more sense to go with £250 (given that I'm only taking it out to cover a catastrophe - that is sudden gearbox or engine failure - in which case 250 quid is small change). On the other hand I'm not too bothered as it's still £65 less than what I was prepared to pay at the dealer. It's underwritten by VW insurance.

Brian,  i tried it through to payment.

5 year old,

50,000 Miles.

under 10,000 a year,

all component cover,

£250 Excess,

and it came up @ £230.54

Aye, that's what I did - I had the two quotes running at the same time - maybe entered my payment details in the dearer one by mistake, but that was still open. I can always cancel within 14 days if they won't / can't amend it and take out another. I'll sleep on it - as I said I'm not too bothered - I had the money put aside to change cars, keeping the vRS (only on 26,439 miles when it got put to bed tonight) is considerably cheaper than doing that.

It is a very good deal.

One i can not use though, no Dealer Service history and remapped.

So because my car is still under warranty it wont let me go past the first screen asking for Reg and Mileage, which is a bit of a shame as i wanted to know costs, looking what what you guys have put on its looking rather promising than the 400 plus the dealer was quoting me,

Anyone aware if you get breakdown cover at all with the warranty?

No, it's just breakdown.

Not sure why it won't let you past the first screen as you have to set the warranty up at least 30 days in advance.

ah mine doesnt expire till 9th sept, ill wait till im within the 30days to have a look

£399 was the 12 month price with the Skoda Approved Extended Warranty from Car Care Plan ltd.

& Brian and i bought 2 year ones.

I paid £547 for that 2 years back on another vRS.

It makes this Skoda Extended Warranty a better price than that we had previously.

I think you'd then have a gap - I'm sure you need to set it up at least 30 days in advance - I've set one up to start from the 27/09/15 (although I'm currently under a two -year Skoda-approved warranty underwritten by Car Care). It's all change as Car Care no longer manage the Skoda extended warranties and the breakdown (if you opt for it) is now with the AA and not the RAC.

Well i put my old skoda in and it stated that the start date has to be at least 30 days in advance, this is what i get with my reg

my warranty runs out on 4th sept, so 30days would be from wednesday so ill have another look then.

I've emailed Skoda to ask if it's possible to amend the excess to £250 on the warranty I have set up. If not, and it means cancelling and setting up another one I'll probably just leave it.
