Power steering assistance value / weight

Featured Replies

Has anyone has luck sorted this out on a 1.2 TSI?

I've tried a search and had a few different answers, but when I tried changing the values they don't seem to make any difference.

From what I gather the values are thus:

In to 44 Steering Assist and then 07 Recode Module:

  • xxx??
  • 10 = normal (heavy cars)
  • 20 = Polo 9N GTI (6R GTI is 21)
  • 30 = Komfort (heavy cars)
  • 40 = normal (light cars)
  • 41 = F² 5J RS
  • 50 = Komfort (light cars)
  • 51 = Audi 8X A1
  • 60 = Mobility help

As you can see ours is set to what looks like 10, yet the help file shows 51 as Audi A1.

Going by the way other coding works, those values (11210) on this one represent:

1 Airbags installed, 12, Steering Angle Sensor is part of the ABS/ESP and then 10 would be Normal (heavy cars).

I tried changing those last two x's to the values above but I felt no change, and the value when going back in to the module was the same value, 10.

Is there a security code we need to enter first?

Cheers!
