There is a bit more power once the downpipe is fitted onto a stage 1 tune but it isn't until the stage 2 tune is install that you get the whole gain.

Stage 2 was worth another 10km/h down the main straight of Sydney Motorsport Park compared to stage 1.

The downpipe and intercooler don't provide any performance gains directly but as a bigger dp and free-flowing cat allow for more exhaust gases to be safely produced before things get too hot, the map needs/can be tuned in order to profit of exactly these additional exhaust gases. One other thing I noticed through logging is that with the stage 2 map the N75 closed more agressively/earlier and also, overboost slightly increased from 1.6 to 1.65-1.7bar depending also on how much the wastegate actuator was tightened.

 

You can just throw the upgraded h/w but without a remap you won't notice anything (maybe other than slightly cooler exhaust gas temps). I had my full turbo-back running the stage 1 map for a while before switching to stage 2 without any EML lights coming on and I could hardly tell it was there. My remap is not from APR but I would imagine it's the same story all across the stage 2 maps out there.

My vrs as got a tbe with decat heat wrapped with a forge fmic itg replacement filter Gfb dv+ and a tmc tuning box and it running 216bhp and 301nm with no lights on the dash goes like fook. And before the Gfb dv+ and tmc box it went really well as good as a stage one.

i did dyno my car before and after intercooler / downpipe / intake on stage 1 . i did feel those +3HP increase instantly ....

 

we even removed the airfilter box and did let it run with a straight cold air pipe with no restriktions in it , nothing changed ....

Iam thinking decat. But I think I'll do the oil restrictor bolt as suggested by lucifer
