Monte All Season tyres.

Featured Replies

Just considering all season tyres for my Monte ,it has standard 17"

Conti,s at the moment. would like more comfortable and quieter ride as well as the obvious with all season tyres, any one got any recommendations. Thanks.

I very highly recommend Maxxis AP2 All Seasons.

Maybe go for 215/40 R 17's

^^^ me too, we have them on the Abarth in 205/40/17 V and they are awesome.

What diff. will 215 make, blackcircles recommended sticking with standard size. Thanks.

They just give a bit more comfort.

The physical size is actually not much different from a Pirreli Zero Nero or some other tyres in a 205/40 R17

But stick with 205/40 R 17's if you think that is best.

There are Seat Ibiza, VW Polo & A1's that come with 215/40 R 17 as a standard tyre from the factory.

You now get All New Skoda 2015 Skoda Fabia on 215/40 R 17's

OK. Thanks.

im running Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons on the Fab. Not sure if they're available in your tyre size or not, but they're brill tbf.

How about Michelin CrossClimate (if available in your size) - have not heard any negative reports on these.

Not available to fit the 17's on a Monte Carlo / vRS.

If they were out at the time i was searching for All Seasons, i think id of probably opted for these tbh

Cant see if the Vectors are tbh.

205 50 r17's or 225 40 r17's are i think

I have Michelin Cross Climate on my Volvo just now.

If they had been in the size to fit my Fabia i would still have gone with the Maxxis AP2.

Amazing Value and ability.

Thanks, did you find them quieter, I have Contis on at them moment and get a lot of road noise also is there a noticeable difference in comfort as apposed to 205s . Thanks again.

Sorry but i have then fitted to a vRS with no Resonator, tyre noise is not something i notice.

(Plus i am half way to being Mutt and Jeff.)

They are more comfortable in most Brands in a 215 over the 205's and not always that noisier.

What i will say about the Maxxis AP2 is the interior is creaking less, and the ride is more compliant but still the handling is good.

Currently sitting in about 4" of soft wet snow and its blowing a hoolie so tyre noise hardly matters once moving.

I have Goodyear eagle ultra grip and can highly recommend them as iam also sitting on 4" of snow and the Vrs was unbelievable to drive in the snow, so much grip the Vrs could have went anywhere at any speed

maxxis AP2's doing the job in the snow ;)

Barely enough there to fill the tread ;) haha.

was cool though, just enough to give that "snow on snow" grippy feeling :)

Now done 4,000 miles since i fitted Maxxis AP2 All Seasons in 215/40 R17.

They have been really good and worth every penny and more.

Very good in the wet, cold and snow and just fine so far in temps up to Mid Teens.

Just going to leave them on and see how they wear if they do.

Do you find the handling a little more vague n softer on all seasons as appose to summers?

As planted and as good grip, better in the damp than Summer tyres and they are wider than the standard 205's.

(Even M+S marked tyres are OK as far as i am concerned.)

I find the Vector 4 seasons are softer (maybe more pronounced as ive got bigger sidewalls on mine).

Ive been puttin a couple more PSI in to sharpen it up a tad

the maxxis tyres have been awesome on the Abarth , I have now pushed them in dry warmish conditions too, and they are still better than the original pirellis! we will not be chnaging them, and will buy more when they wear out.....

when it comes to winter tyres for the octy, I may even plump for these maxxis all season again, I'm that impressed :)

Is there any likelihood of insurance problems with non-standard, wider (i.e. 215/40 R17) tyres?

Also, isn't  there going to be a small increase (4 mm) in the wall height therefore tyre circumference and therefore the speedo reading?
