vRS Suspension Upgrade Options

Featured Replies

Evening

I've been looking at investing in some Springs for the Estate but Ideally I would like Shocks & Springs something Like Koni's

Don't really want coilovers getting old & budget under £400

Is The Hatchback the same as the Estate ?

Or does the weight mean I require different setup as not everywhere advertises what fit's the vRS Estate

Thanks

its NOT the same... the rear springs need to be different rates...... (weight)

the shocks often ARE the same... the best (bilstien B12's) are the same part number estate and hatch.... the matching eibach springs are different part numbers for hatch and estate ;)

As mentioned the springs will be different but the shocks will generally be the same.

Did you have a drop in mind?

Most of the kits we list on our website we can also get for the estate model as well.

For within your budget something like the Koni STR.T kit or the ST by KW kit would be a good option.

Id be quite interested in the Koni STR.T kit is this available for the Skoda Fabia vRS Estate 2013 ? if so how much & Delivery time ?

I liked my H&R 40mm springs, made the car sit perfectly IMO

Koni don't list the STR.T kit for the VRS for some reason but we can make it up for you using the STR.T dampers and H&R springs.

£415 inc. VAT and delivery.

I shorten shock so it don't knacker it when I air out

I'd suggest shocks from a coilover kit then over shocks from a springs and shocks kit.

Did you have a budget or range in mind for them - budget, mid, top?

Did you have a budget in mind so I can narrow specific options down?

Weird thing is though, I can't find the B12 kit for either vRS variant on the Bilstein online catalogue anymore. Pretty sure I looked into this half a year ago since I asked around for prices, but when I search for the parts numbers i previously found (46-182678) it doesn't list the vRS amongst the suitable vehicles.

Can anyone help me out here?

So what about the Sister Cars with the same platform are they listed.?

Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.4 TSI (132kW) 2009-2012.

VW Polo GTI 1.4 TSI (132kW) 2010-2014

Yup, they are listed, but all with different parts numbers as far as I can tell.

Ibiza: 46-182425

Polo: 46-184467

None for Fabia mk2 vRS. Odd. Are they identical suspensionwise?

give them a ring.... places like DMP (sponsors on here) will sort a B12 for you.... eibach (or H&R) springs and some B8 dampers..

they may not list, but they know which ones fit!

H&R were really good when I rang them, as I bought a RARB that wasn't designed for, or the correct part number for my car, they still said it would fit, and it did! lol.... (I bought the mark I fabia bar)

I know but I'd rather order from a norwegian store to support my local distributors and so on. And B8 + eibach springs were significantly more expensive than B12 last time I checked.

  • 4 weeks later...

So I was just searching around for a set of b8 and I found that A1, Ibiza and Polo are all listed as compatible vehicles for the same front strut: 35-168577. Fabia 5j isn't, but Rapid is. Fabia 5j has got 35-052180 listed.

The rear strut listed in the same b8 set as 35-168577, 24-067904 has got fabia 6y and 5j listed.

Just seems weird to me that the Fabia for some reason should be the only sister car not compatible with the same front struts.. and  it bothers me is that the Fabia 5j set is slightly more expensive than Polo/A1/Ibiza set :stingy:

I know of plenty of UK sellers of the B12 kit (I've got it and it's fantastic) but can't say I know where you could get them from in Norway if that's where you are.

May just have to pay delivery and get it shipped over.

This is looking at international sites and bilsteins own catalogue, so bilstein does not list an official b12 kit for fabia 5j anymore. Might be some sellers just put a fabia 5j kit with eibach springs together themselves.

I was looking for Koni's when I wanted to upgrade a few sites listed these for the Estate some didn't

I emailed Koni direct they advised they never made any for the Estate maybe worth emailing Bilstein

So sites that advertised them were from the Hatch
