Error: AdBlue (DEF). No engine start in 1000 km

Featured Replies

To day I got this message in the display: Error: AdBlue (DEF). No engine start in 1000 km. Anyone having experience with this error/fault? This warning is not the same as the low level message, but indicating an fault in the AdBlue system. What will this fault normally be?

It's telling you it is getting very low and you won't be able to start the engine again in 1000kms unless you top-up the ad-blue.

At least that's what I think it means anyway.

Correct. Not an error but a warning that you have 1,000km (or less) to do something about the AdBlue level.

Correct. Not an error but a warning that you have 1,000km (or less) to do something about the AdBlue level.

So what is the difference between the two messages "Error: AdBlue (DEF). No engine start in 1000 km" and "Add AdBlue (DEF). No engine start in 1000 km"?

So the fact that it says Error means that there is a fault with the Adblue system AND you only have 1000km of ad-blue range left and it won't restart after that.

So you need to take it to a dealer to have the fault diagnosed. Maybe first try a top-up and see if you then just get an error without the 1000km remaining warning.
