Exeter 26th Feb '06

Featured Replies

Just in case anyone from the South West is interested, various SEAT and VW clubs are having a meet at Exeter Services on Sunday 26 February.

There are threads in the meets sections of both SeatEnthusiasts.co.uk and SeatCupra.net, and they are expecting a reasonable turn out, plus there's allegedly a 'model' coming along too, who will have her picture taken with you and/or your car :D

She might BE the model! Ya never know.

hehehe - he wishes! If Tiggs goes then everyone must make sure he doesn't have pictures done with the model - cos that's mean on poor iccle ol me!

:o

but what if she accidently fell over my car and some random person took a piccie :P

I cant see that happening - there are better cars than yours that she can fall on! Just cos I'm not up to model standard doesn't mean you get a proper one :D

  • 2 weeks later...

:bump: Anyone else?

yeh i will come down sounds a giggle, i will bring my model girlfriend too if somebody helps me blow her up lol:rofl:

 Are you able to share her out? ;)

Hmm i might appear,

I know when i got my car priced when i was considering an octy 2, my g/f tried lying spead across the bonnet to raise the price.

The saleman seemed ammused, as did some other people in the carpark :)

would be willing to go if it was more than just a car park sound off, a day out down't coast would be nice :)

Well looking at the updates on seatcupra.net and seatenthusiasts.co.uk, the two people who started the thing up, one on either site, have gone their seperate ways! The seatenthusiasts co-ordinator (who is supposedly bringing along the 'models') wants a SEAT only meet, but there are still plenty of other VAG owners that should be attending the alternative meet which is on the same day at the same time in the same car park. Confused? Well at least it's a big car park!

Apparently the meet was posted up on a few cruize sites and the original (seatenthusiasts) organizer didn't want any eejits doing donuts in the car park and attracting the Rozzers (who's headquarters is only half a mile away!).

So there we are - more like a soap opera than a car meet! Great!

Oh and Bengie, the sea is only eight miles away or so in '**** cruise central' aka Exmouth. Mind you, there are occasional gatherings of more interesting cars down there on the sea front if you're lucky.

Yeah, I was reading that discussion on SE myself the other day. Seems like it was getting a little out of hand to what they originally wanted, which was a gathering of SE members from the south west area.

As for Exmouth, tarted up Novas, Corsas and Fiestas are the standard car of choice for the kiddies down there. Most of them think they are well smart if they can pull a wheelspin out of the little roundabout at the end of the sea front! Takes all sorts I suppose.

All the Best

Ch4v central? I go down Exmouth every now and then you know. :P (and it is indeed full of ch4vs. :grumpy: :D)

Sunday just gone was heaving down there thanks to the good weather.

It's not that far for you Jase, so perhaps I ought to keep an eye out for a silver Furby with a funny plate next time I'm down there!:P

I can just imagine you racing the ch4vs down the sea front, just to annoy them! I can just picture the look on their faces, especially with your plate.

:D Its usually the amount of smoke that gets them confused. Reckon they they all think the car is knackered, where as its actually OK. :)

Sounds like this Exeter Services thing has gone up the spout.. If anyone still wants a local meet around that time in this area, I'd be happy to try and organise something with a little tour around the area, lunch somewhere with a big car-park and a bit more driving in the afternoon - maybe some other entertainment (not involving activities in car parks in Haldon woods ;):D)

that sounds better J, teignmouth peer, dawlish go karts and red rock. much more like it :D

Can think of somewhere better for the gokarts. ;) But it would need booking in advance so would be a lot harder to organise.

Never been to see whats on Teignmouth pier myself. :o But Torbay generally has some good stuff to do. Paignton pier is OK.

Dunno - Might see if I can rustle up some things to do and organise a "Day out in Devon" :D

you live about 10miles away if that ant you haven't been to teignmouth pier

naughty jason!!

tbh its nothing special but has a decent view and plenty of games to play on :D

also has a frash donut stall and ice cream vendor :D

Teignmouth is a place I rarely stop in. :D Usually drive straight through it on my way to "somewhere else" - And its only about 5 miles away from me. :)

Mental note made to explore the pier/harbour area a bit more sometime soon. maybe with some fishing in mind. ;)

have you ever played the pitch and putt in dawlis?? thats a good laugh :D

one hell of a hill its on!!

WTF is the pitch & putt? I have to say if its down by the warren, I never really go down there as its a tourist thing. I tend to go a little bit further and play on proper golf courses. ;) (badly)

I know about the karting down on the warren though, got a mate who attends mini-moto sessions down there.

Teignmouth is a dump. Full of Seagull poo and not quite dead people. The beach is a funny colour and the pier is not very interesting.

Starting to question my exploratory mission now.

All I remember is the one time I was out drinking there, the shopping area seemed OK. It was all closed up so couldn't really do more than peer in the windows in my drunken state. :D
