vrs coil packs

Featured Replies

Ive been talking to someone who used to own a fabia vrs 1.4 tsi like myslef and he said i should definetly replace the standard coil packs with uprated ones as the standard ones arnt very good.

If this is true could someone please reccomend a set, a link to decent set would be apreciated.

Cheers,

BigDan.

Did you find the cause of your EML light after the Spark Plug change?

Do you have a faulty Ignition Coil, these can fail where a spark plug has been failing and over heating.

Someone will be along hopefully to advice you on upgrade Ignition Coils.

They are available, you just decide how much you want to spend over the OEM ones.

No still not had it in the garage yet. It seems to be fine when im driving normaly its when i start to give it some it starts judering and then the lkight flashes. But ive got it booked in with a VAG specialsit  in my area in 2 weeks. So hopefully after the diagnostics that should give us an indication as to the problem.

But yeah someone recomened buying some new coil packs regardless of the outcome at the garage, as they reckon the standard ones are rubbish.

So what did they buy instead.

Do a search here & you will see what others fitted.

I used the ones that were fitted to the Audi A1 185ps with Stage 1, (that was after i found they were using DENSO plugs as well to try and sort out their issues,)

but now they show now as the same as for the Fabia.

Audi had better ignition coils and they were no more expensive a few years back.

i found someone had used r8 ngk coils with ngk iridium plugs , bu then ive heard that the ngk iridiums arnt that good.

So i installed the denso iridiums instead.

Bit confused. The Audi ignition coil for the A1 185PS has a part number of 036905715G and the Skoda has a part number of 036905715G. i.e. they're the same.  Which Audi coil did you use if it wasn't the one for the A1?

It was the ones for the A1 as i said.

They were nothing special just the same part number but NGK's, the Audi tech that gave me them had been fitting them when they were trying to sort out issues on the A1 because they had ignition coils failing prematurely with the plug failing.
