Do we get to know where this Dealership is?

Lets hope that Group Directors and the Dealer Principal get to read this, they may blush or be rather proud that the are achieving the Main Dealers top Steelers standard.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was the admin fee?

iirc £89 but it is the principal. If the car had been advertised as a cash price of £6573 instead of £6484 then there would have been no problem.

I completely agree! I would have refused to pay it

Admin fees, what a load of ******.

You're buying a thing not a service! Tbh I think 'admin' fees are a con anyway, if it's part of the business of the transaction why add it as an extra except as a way to hide a gouging charge.

You don't go into argos to buy something and expect to be hit by an admin fee.

If you'd taken finance there would have been another admin fee for that as well.

I went to buy a Vauxhall a few years ago, it was secondhand about 4 years old.

First off, I should have walked away as I didn't particularly like the salesman I was dealing with, and secondly I didn't like the admin person I had to deal with during and after the sale of the car.

Yep they tried the old £99 admin fee, they knocked that off the screen price in the end. No it was also the pushy way they tried all sorts of, have Lifeshine, have wheel shine, have tyre protection, have insurance and finally a service plan.

I'm a bit keen on what oil I put in my cars and because a certain oil is stipulated in this VX I was buying I asked the service dept manager, who tried to sell me the service plan " What oil will you be putting in this car" his reply was I don't know we get it in a big drum.

I liked the car at first but to be honest it's the worst car I've ever bought, nothing but bad luck or things going wrong with it.

On the otherhand the Seat I own now was a breeze to buy, no pushy stuff, no fees, couldn't have been simpler really. Even the part ex car,  the price given over the internet was honoured, no quibble.

Always had a bad time at Poxhall dealers. But that's a lesson learned, I'm not interested in that marque any more.

Good on you for walking away, sad thing is they'll never learn from it..... people do pay it, that's why they chance it.

Where I got my Monte from

I wont be going back either!

Total tosh... I walked into my main Skoda dealer saw nearly new Citigo with about 400 miles on the clock had a screen price of £7,500 at that time it was £9250 otr the first owner paid.

Offered to take the car next day for cash as it didn't even need a valet and walked away with it for £7300 with full 3 year service plan.

No admin fee just straight debit card payment of agreed amount and drove it away!

Think they were trying to claw something back cheeky f....rs glad you walked.

That's my local dealer too. Never bought a car from them so can't comment on the sales team but I've read a few negative comments about them which is a bit worrying, the service team seem like a decent bunch though as they have always serviced my vrs when it's needed it.

DM Keith in York is a shower of **** too.

If the admin fee wasn't very clear on their website and it was an approved used Skoda then speak to or email Skoda UK.

DM Keith Limited is authroised and regulated by the Financial Control Authority (FCA) under registration number 309027. They are also franchising the Skoda brand and are bound by certain conditions. Hidden fees are very much dirty words in this day and age and certainly not something a reputable main dealer would do - which says a lot for DM Keith.

Here are Skoda UK's contact details, drop them a quick note and express your displeasure, takes a minute or two at most...

http://www.skoda.co.uk/about-us/contact-us

DM Keith also have a Facebook page (Rachel Thompson) and Twitter feed. Social media can be very powerful when used properly. No need to get carried away but a quick one liner on both of these channels might just send a clear message to the dealer and warn potential customers of this underhand practice...
