Twincharger missfire

Featured Replies

Hi guys seem to be getting a missfire at high speeds (motorway) even tho I have brand new denso plugs and Audi R8 coil packs fitted ... any ideas could my tuning box be faulty and fueling too much ? Also I have an itg induction kit but I have no tube over the end as it was corroded so It could not be getting enough cold air any ideas the denso plugs have the correct gap set

What is the correct plug gap you have with the Tuning Box & What Tuning Box, TMC or Bluspark?  0.6mm might be right if everything else is.

You need fresh air obviously and from the front of the vehicle really.

What is the Upgraded Turbo story, all OK there?

TMC mate and gap set to 0.6 turbo seems fine mate

Are you talking 70ish motorway high speeds, ie 2,500 rpm type thing not pulling any load,

so on turbo only with supercharger on demand?

Better remove the TMC Box as an easy / cheap check to see if there is an issue.

What would cause my car to missfire other than the tuning box mate

Need to be clear about what you have really.

A replaced CAVE engine that you say the Technician says is a CTHE so a complete unit with new head.

So was the ECU changed or just a new map uploaded?

How many miles ago?

Same Water pump / supercharger and everything else?

Tuning Box, & Air Intake, Super Unleaded.

What else?  What exhaust?  DO YOU HAVE A FORGE BOV?

Just take off the Tuning Box and see, and remove the BOV if you have one.

Vpower nitro, TMC tuning box but it's set low, ITG filter but it has no outer tube going behind the battery so it will probably not be getting as much air also I've never cleaned the filter ? Always under full load i.e. Foot right down , and the engine has been running for a long time I.E. Motorway just a bit worried as last night it made the warning light on the dash flash the exhaust one , I'm also running a miltek cat back exhaust

Also running a forge BOV

The TMC box is now removed

So plenty reasons that you can have a mis-fire and even a serious one if you were giving it laldy with supercharger & turbo at below 3,500rpm

Even in cooler weather that area beside the battery can have the air at 40*oC or so.

(measure using a Digital Fridge Thermometer.)

Dirty filter is rather silly.

A FORGE BOV is just a useless thing on a Twincharger. IMO

Not doing too well on trying to get a flyer, more likely to get a dyer.
