CTHE new software for misfire

Featured Replies

Just to note the above, I had an update applied today that apparently resolves the misfires on cold start for CTHE VRS.

Any reason it was not done just recently when your DSG had the Service Campaign 34H5 carried out?

I think it must be just out as the car was there only last week.

never heard of that one is there a TPI doc on it, I'm on cave & never had a cold misfire. Out of interest does Skoda ecu map overwrite a custom ecu map? Ie would it undo the tune up

There have been plenty CAVE Software updates since 2010 & several CTHE updates since 2012.

There were CAVE ones pre breather Mods, for going with Breather Mods, with Oil Spray Jet Updates.

Then CTHE ones because they still used oil, and because the plugs were failing, and because of Cold Start issues.

I had ecu update last sep 2016, then car mapped Dec 2016,

If you have a remap then you do not let a Main Dealer do a software update.

Some software updates they have had in the past 7 years have been pants and while supposedly to have a car running efficiently they just messed them up.

Avoid unless you are having issues an a Skoda / VW Warranty and if it is crap you can have them sort it out.

Incidentally the software make no difference to the stuttery fast idle.

?

Is this fast idle at start up or after 40 seconds?

Is this why the Software Update was done?

I must admit my car has like a high rev and roughing for around 40 seconds then it smooths out and drops under 900rpm..

I take it that's normal then for CAVE etc from what your saying?

1,100 rpm on start up dropping to 800 rpm is normal not just with twinchargers other petrol VW Group engines as well,

rough is not normal just with some that really should not be rough.

Yes the initial fast idle, it looks a bit more that 1100rpm to me. The idle speed once warmed up is 700rpm according to the ODBII data.
