Octavia Spiders on a Fabia VRS - But what tyres?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Have done plenty of research on this and can see that some people say 205/40/17 while others say 215/40/17.

Does anyone have any pics of both combinations? Pros/Cons etc?

Thanks in advance

Nick

Personally I'd go for the 215/40/17. I ran that size on both my Fabia Vrs (MK I) Being slightly wider than the 205's they gave more rim protection.

Thats interesting to know.

Did the ride become more comfortable because of that extra bit of tyre?

Any pics?

No Picturs Sorry, Didn't notice any difference in ride to be honest.

Ok thanks for that matey.

Does anyone have any pics of 215/40s on their Octavia Spiders?

I would avoid 215's if you've lowered it as the inside of the tyre will rub the arch liner.

The below picture is as requested....

You won't really tell much of a difference over 205's in terms of ride quality.

Can I ask how much this is lowered and coilovers? Looks great.

Cheers dude B)

Best guess is about 50mm? on KW-V1's, which are awesome.

Mines a tad low at the moment! Need to raise it. And going to aim for the same as yours. Legend.

Just for debate....

Little Bro runs 205/45x17 on his Ibiza. Standard spec is 205/40.

The ride is slightly smoother and the speedo is now pretty much accurate (as opposed to 6-8% high).

He's got a RARB on it but no lowering.

Have thought about a 205/45 as it would be slightly chunkier.
Can you get some pics? Would love to see.

That's a shame. :(

205/40/17 Is closer to the standard 205/45/16 assuming you have a vRS

Few pics of mine just to add

Stance fairies, can it **** a leg?

Forgot we're not allowed to use the word for an uncastrated male chicken. Drat, puerile stuff.
