Fitting new spark plugs to 2007 Roomster

Featured Replies

I  want to change the spark plugs in my 2007 Roomster 1.6L petrol but I am unable to determine how the  air cleaner casing  can be removed to allow access to the plugs.

I can see some rubber grommets  but no other attachment bolts etc.

Could some member explain to me how the casing is removed.      Thanks

I finally solved my problem.      The spark plugs are not located behind the motor as I thought and are on top of the cylinder head and are removed in a vertical direction.

I have attached a picture of the Skoda 1.6L 16 V motor fitted to my car and  a link for a YouTube video showing a spark plug being removed from an identical motor.

The plugs were the originals and had done 123,000  kilometers and were overdue for replacement.   The gaps were very wide and the car was not pulling up hills very well but that is now fixed with the new plugs.
