New Yetis with Big Discounts

Featured Replies

All 20l TDI no petrol's

In a thread the other day someone was commenting on Skoda selling 13,000 Yeti in February 2018.

But it was delivering 1,300 Yeti in February 2018.

So after stopping production in the 3rd quarter 2017 they are still not selling like hot cakes to anyone other than Skoda and delivered to dealerships.

Good prices though, which kind of messes up the 2nd hand value or asking prices of nearly new Yeti.

Pre Registered vehicles will be released 90 days after first registration etc.

A wee thing that the UK tax payers subsidise for the Manufacturers / Dealerships as obviously they are not Demonstrators for the tax breaks.

Then since registered before April there is not the £300 extra to the Chancellor from the VED band going up one.

So win win for buyers and sellers, it is not like there is not still a profit for them.

Just goes to show how the unallocated orders were not what the customers wanted.

The petrols and DSG version sold out months ago, and some clown chooses to make 2 litre diesels with manual gearboxes they have remained unsold.  (except last 5 which appear to be DSG 4x4)

My guess is they made far too many Diesel engines and manual gearboxes then had to use them up in late production.

This is clearly a batch of unwanted distressed stock being sold off a a discount.

Some clowns like 2 litre manual diesels. I do.

I find that comment quite insulting. Some of us require and actually prefer a 2 litre diesel with a manual gearbox because of our choices, hobbies and even employment.

The above comment was from SurreyJohn  not Lanigraham

I agree with Graham 100% there, Being retired I keep mine for about 10 years and if it were not for mine having the power I like, doing 60mpg and £30 year road tax I may not have bought one.

Two 2 litre diesel manual Yetis in my family - self & no.2 son - (and smaller petrol manuals for local use), bought by choice.

Another vote for manual diesel from me:thumbup:

I've either owned, or driven all Yeti variants and the 4WD TDi / 4WD TSi is undoubtedly the best of the bunch, both in terms of driving dynamics and all-weather ability.

I guess the ultimate (for me) would be a 1.4 TSi 4x4, but the combination of the dreadful L&K interior colour combo, high price, relative rarity, diamond cut alloys and potentially leaky pan roof led me to sticking with my current (and thus far trusty) 2014 FL 140 BP 4x4 TDi.

I did consider one of these last of the line TDi Yeti's, after a Karoq test drive left me rather numb, but the Ad-blue implementation seems to be very much an after thought, and I'd no doubt end up spilling it all over the boot. I was also a bit underwhelmed by the newer 150 BHP TDi engine.

Another vote for the 2Ltr Manual Diesel Yeti from me too.

Great car, comfortable & a very stable car.

pp, the AdBlue is really no problem.

Like others I got a 10Lt from Halfrauds & a top up bottle from evilbay, refilling is a piece of cake, no spills.

You would always expect a large discount if you are the second owner of a car, even if it has done no miles?

Whats the issue with adblu anyway. Just put 5lt in a dedicated tank every 4k miles or so; it doesn't even cost that much at £11 for 10lt? No more difficult than topping up the washer liquid.

Strange how the herd will stampede with fake news. Modern euro 6 diesel with adblu produces no more nox than a petrol vehicle whilst at the same time a lot less co2!

By running to buy 1.2 petrol Yetis the performance is a lot less and fuel costs will be a lot more. Only reason to buy a petrol is low mileage and the impact on DPF etc.

The government must be panicking with the way co2 emissions have stopped their decline and started to rise again

Basically agree about merits of modern diesels but I have found that petrol is quieter, smoother, no problems with short journeys and cheaper upfront purchase price. I am getting 44.62 MPG (true average from new) on my 1.2 Tsi DSG Yeti while I got true average of 48.45MPG from my previous Octavia 2L DSG (2010 model). The difference is less than 4 MPG so really for me it's a no brainer. I used to do 18,000 Miles PA now I do about 9,500 PA which really points to petrol.

Governments are useless at analysing the best way to go to meet an objective because they are driven by pressure groups and the need to be "popular". Overall CO2 reduction is a prime example, the cheapest, quickest and simplest way to have reduced emissions would have been to invest in Gas Fired Power Stations quickly closing down Coal stations. So what did Government do? invest oodles of taxpayers money in wind turbines then had to ensure there was sufficient redundant capacity to meet demand when the wind didn't blow, and invest in huge diesel powered generator capacity to cover the shortfall. Imagine the emissions form that lot if they ever have to use them! Energy Companies won't invest in clean gas generating stations because they will only be used spasmodically and there is no return on investment. Now, of course, they are finding that Wind Powered turbines (particularly off shore) are wearing out much quicker than envisaged so instead of a life of 25 years it will be closer to half that with increased  maintenance costs. To cap it all we are sitting on vast quantities of shale gas which would have removed any dependancy on Soviet gas and we could have supplied Europe so reducing their dependency on Putin. You couldn't make it up!!!

The 2 I looked at in my local main dealer both had evidence of spillage (and the

filler neck seemed inconveniently located - both put me off!

Disappointed the tank is not bigger. A family member has a Peugeot which only requires topping up at service time / every 18k miles. Guess it has a bigger tank?

This was an after thought so had to be fitted into the existing body.

Just enquired after a new 4x4 (manual) Yeti, but no new ones left unfortunately.

Lots of 110 BHP 2WD TDi's still available:thumbup:

Pinkpanther,

is that a modern Peugeot that has an Ad-blue tank or an older one with the different system that can do 18,000 miles between refilling.

My 2016 Alhambra 2.0 TDI SCR / DSG has a 17 litre tank and can do between 7,500-8,000 miles before needing refilled,

a 34 litre plus Ad-Blue tank  is pretty big, bigger than a petrol tank of a Citigo,

or Peugeot must have an even better Defeat Device or SCR cheat fitted than the VW Group had on vehicles in the USA.

.....for clowns and tightrope artists only?   The 150 2L diesel manual is for the lion tamer.

Apologies - it needs to be topped up / refilled every 12500 miles.

I recall my family member mentioning it was topped up at service time and they'd never had to refill in between. More here: http://peugeot-uk-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9135/~/how-do-i-know-when-to-adblue®%3F

This was a 2016 2008 1.6 HDi, which appears to have a considerably  more modest thirst for Ad-blue than your SEAT:thumbup:

Based on my yearly mileage I'd be filling the Ad-blue (and emptying the boot) more frequently than the washer bottle!!

Maybe Peugeot will be caught out eventually on what the actual emissions were and how the SCR system was operating.

Because sounds very much like why VW Group were caught out.  Not actually functioning because the rules allowed various Ambient Temps when not operating.

Hence Raids on HQ's in Germany, France etc.

Thoroughly enjoy driving the manual 4x4 170 diesel TIBET III that I chose and own. As I did with the previous two Yetis and a Fabia vRS before that.

I did think about a DSG diesel Yeti but was struggling to see the advantage of spending over a grand extra on something that was going to return less mpg (according to the figures).

Shark remap, so circa 200hp and 47 mpg (true) is fine by me.
