Anyone done this conversion on the 5J model? there are kits for the 6Y but they say the caliper mounting needs modifiying???

does anyone know the difference between the 5J & 6Y for this fitment??

You need the rear axle from a vRS MK2

Can you change out the stub axles?

No as the mounting for the calipers is on the axle it's self, I wouldn't recommend using spacers or stub axle kit

I've bought a whole rear axle and will bolt straight on

Ok cool, and special kits needed for the handbrake cables and brake lines?

Brake lines from the vRS MK2 axle will bolt straight up same as the handbrake cables for the MK2 vRS

& other various rear axle and parts, VW Polo GTI, Seat Ibiza Cupra and even some Fabia Mk2 that had rear discs.

Several threads if you search.

Thanks for your help, I'll look at getting the parts sourced in the near future. Possibly look at swapping out the front brakes too.

Yes plenty of second hand parts about for this conversion.

The 312 upgrade is the same bolts straight up

Yeah other cars that share the same, my axle is from a Ibiza

According to the August 2014 UK Fabia Brochure  "vRS and GreenLine II (Hatch) Disc brakes front and rear".
