Stalling Octavia - Beware!!

Featured Replies

Despite all the news about Skoda they appear to have an underlying culture of dishonesty as a business. My brand new and otherwise gorgeous Skoda Octavia began stalling in the first week and continued to do so intermittently for the following 18 months. In every instance Skoda denied there is a problem with the vehicle and refused to change or take it back. When it stalled everything locked including steering which was quite scary and a great concern. Skoda remained in complete denial about what is a common fault in their vehicles if you check websites like this. I consider this to be dangerous but they refused point blank to entertain the issue.

Any fault thats resolved is acceptable but to outright deny the problem is unscrupulous and they take no responsibility whatsoever because they said they couldn't replicate the fault which it appears is endemic in the vehicle design.

If your about to buy one of these vehicles, they are very nice but remember your on your own as far as customer service is concerned if it goes wrong. Skoda have a well publicised history of dishonesty which is well deserved.

one for offski

Some info would be good.

What engine, what gearbox, and what is meant by stalling, is it the car totally just shuts down the engine.

Is it SKODA UK Customer Services and the Skoda Technical people denying any issue,

or is it Skoda Main Dealership Employees?

?

Which threads or posts on BRISKODA are there with people having the same issues, and is it people rolling to a halt and the Stop / Start turning off the engine type posts?

Well our complainer has it appears moved on. So frustrating when this happens as none of us can help and it is essentially trashing the brand. As Offski asks, what exactly is the fault in more detail?
