DQ200 DSG TPI information.

Featured Replies

I eventually got my car back after a month at the dealers.

On the warranty paperwork there are a couple of TPI's listed.

Firstly for the common fault of the "Error Workshop, only leave gearbox in P" or similar error they have replaced the Gear Lever which looking at the work required also involves removing the battery, air filter housing and replacing an exhaust heat shield. TPI 2051235/4

And then I was having clutch slip in 4th so they changed the clutch packs and software update TPI 2050318/4

After this work the gearbox lost comms with K2 clutch, the work pack says three TPI's are relevant but doesn't list them. Anyway the Mechatronics were changed.

With no improvement VW authorised changing the clutchpacks and flywheel as they suspected the 1st replacement clutch to be damaged in transit.

So all fitted and now back working OK.

Does anyone have further information on the TPI's?

Glad to hear this bit

Have a look in the Fabia Mk3 section at the thread,  The famous DQ200 Clutch Slip' thread.

Some of the members posts there might help, or the members can.

Be interested in this topic since I've had a TPI on my DSG (DQ200) and since then the gear change does appear to slip between gear changes now. It is delayed in the change between the gears engaging.

The dealer updated the software without asking me first which really irked me but they said it was supposed to resolve rough changing in sports mode. It didn't.

Sadly they will not tell me anything about the TPI nor the number.

This could be a help because that is what version I am on now (5260) https://vag-flashinfo.de/index.php?partno=0CW+300+047+E&as=

I no longer have slip and the gears change instantly looking at the rev counter.

But there appears to be a torque limit when a gear change is taking place.

So it's no longer an instant gear change and more the feel of a conventional  auto when a gear change takes place.

I believe the software dips the torque at gear change to give the clutches an easier life.

What age is your car, was the work done under warranty and what mileage is it?

Was the car one that was part of the Service Campaign '34H5' started late 2016 on some DQ200 from 2013-2015?  Software Update.

Not sure Offski.

Doesn't have a sticker and has been looked after since new at the same dealers.

Gearbox seems fine now but the brakes are grinding under braking. I wonder if they have to be stripped to remove the drive shafts? It looks like the pads are catching the slight lip on the edge of the disc.

Looks like I'll be ringing the dealers Monday.

If it is that the noise will disappear after a few miles, the lip on the disc soon wears the pad edge away.
