Featured Replies

31/10/18 After driving home and parking car on drive, locked it up and went indoors at approx 21.00.

After going to bed, I was woken by car alarm at 23.20, i know this because it is time i dialled 999 for fire service.

See photos of that evening and next morning.

Pics with bike were taken 23/10/18

Other pics were when i bought car in June 2018 approx 62000 miles full dealer service history.

Bl**dy hell, that's scary - glad you're ok.

There was another member had this happen not too long ago, I'll see if I can find the link.

You are alive and well, that's all that matters at the end of the day.  The insurance  will pay for the metal, rubber and plastic.

Damn inconvenient for sure but may have been a much different outcome if you were in it at the time.

Take care chap.

Wow, that's worrying and sad to see! Least no one was in the car, metal can be replaced.

Best of luck getting everything sorted! :)

Fire service, police forensic and Insurance didnt come up with any cause of "thermal incident" as manufacturers like to call a car going up in flames. My guess is electrical something like cooling fan fault, but dont really know..   Main thing is no one was hurt.

Am I correct in saying you only had the car four months?  If so did you contact the previous owner?  I wouldn't mention any fire to begin with but ask if there were any mods, where the car was serviced etc. Also worth checking details of the service history - was anything out of the ordinary worked on / replaced? Might even be worth asking why they changed the car.

What a horrible experience.  Hope you're okay and things are on the up soon.
