Tarraco

Featured Replies

I've now ordered a SEAT Tarraco instead of a Kodiaq after careful consideration, as the price performance ration is better on the Tarraco currently, more kit for the same price.

And the 0% APR has swayed me across.

I've collected a lot of info here and hopefully as the cars are virtually the same I can read more here anyway.

You thinking of ordering one?

£3K discount and 0% sounds good!

Dark Camouflage sounds interesting, is that SEAT's way of making 'Wet Road Grey' sound more interesting? :D

The SEAT hadn't launched when we ordered our Kodiaq, so I'm stuck with Skoda for the foreseeable future.

Keen to see what you think of the Tarraco though, so please keep this thread updated!

Any extra factory options? I think the XCellence is already generously specced?

1500£ discount only sadly, I broke it down for you.

BUT with Skoda's 5.5% APR the monthlies are more expensive with all the extras configged as in the Tarraco,

I've not seen the car either but reading so many reviews saying it is very similar to Kodiaq and AllSpace and having test driven the Kodiaq I happy to proceed like that , I also have it in writing that this is subject to satisfactory test drive of the demo Tarraco when it arrives to the dealer end of Feb.

SEAT don't do options anymore, only towbar and panoroof.

The excellence has the below spec as standard which to me for that price is very generous:

On first glance, the Tarraco does look pricey compared to the Kodiaq, but when you look at the equipment levels it's actually pretty good.

I did a rough and ready comparison back in December, albeit on the entry level model. I took the base Kodiaq SE 1.5 TSI manual, 7 seater, and added all of the features needed to get it to the same (or as close as possible) base specification SE Tarraco.

Kodiaq SE 1.5 TSI 150 PS 6G Manual 7-seater - £26,750.

Plus...

Metallic paint - £595

KESSY - £215

Virtual Cockpit - £550

Driver Alert System - £50

ISOFIX on Front Passenger Seat - £45

Lumber Support for Driver & Passenger - £130

Drive Mode Selection - £100

Folding Tables on Front Seat Backrests - £130

Sun Visors with Mirror Illuminated - £10

Tri-Zone Climate Control - £305

Electrically Folding and Auto-Dimming Door Mirrors - £255

LED headlights - £? (not available as an option)

TOTAL - £29,135 (plus approx £1,000 for the LED headlights and fog lights, based on Octavia / Superb pricing) = £30,135

Compared to the standard Tarraco SE @ £28,320.

£1815 difference, which, if SEAT's habit of heavily discounting continues, could make it a very viable alternative to the Kodiaq.

It would be impossible for me to go with a Terraco at the moment.

There is no DSG petrol, there is just the 1.5 TSI 6 speed manual.

My mileage and driving style certainly requires a petrol and I wouldn't want to bother with a shift stick anymore.

Same reason that I won’t consider a Tarraco as a company vehicle...

By summer there will be more options and FR trim so I hear, worth keeping an eye on it in my opinion. I Europe they get the 190 TSI DSG so it might come here.

and illuminated scuff plates. Which I rather like .. :)

I also looked at the Terraco at first but was put off by the standard 20" rims and also the fact that it has the body profile of the VW Allspace ie; the smaller upswept 3rd (rear) window (but hopefully not the smaller boot of the Allspace with raised floor). In addition I need the larger petrol engine.

Tarraco has bigger boot than both the Kodiaq and All Space in 7 seater form.

And since we don’t really need seats 6 and 7 regularly I don’t care about the upswept window for rear passenger visibility.

In in UK standard 20 rims only from Xcellence Lux. Below it is 19/18/17 inch.

And it look better :)

Looks are always going to be in the eye of the beholder, but the Tarraco is just too plain, just another X-Trail, or Sorento...

Capture.JPG.0fd0ec1e6537397bdca5b2a3413d2842.JPG

The Kodiaq isn't a 'looker' by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems to have something about it that the Tarraco and it's main competitors are missing...

Square arches around round tyres / wheels worked for Jeep's and some other actual Offroaders, not really for Skoda. IMO.

I do prefer the looks of the Kodiaq in a way but can't justify the cost of the APR on PCP and the same price before interest with the same extras for essentially the same car.

And so far the SEAT customer service seems to be giving a much more modern impression.

Also the rearmost elongated window makes the Kodiaq look bigger and longer when it actually isn't

Edited by TonyTonic

Agree. Both cars look good. But kodiaq looks the most like a suv.

Tarraco a bit like an ultra high v60 cross country.

Be interested to see the wind tunnel CW figures for both

The ability and performance of the local dealer also plays a big part in choosing a car.

Were it not for the fact I have access to a decent Skoda dealer then chances are I'd be driving something different.

Tarraco's boot space is 700lt with rear seats down, and 1775lts with all seats down.  Kodiaq's is 720lts and 2005lts respectively.  Kodiaq boot space with all seats up is 270lts, unfortunately couldn't find any figures for the Tarracco

I think 720l is for the 5 seat version of the Kodiaq. The 7 seat is less.
