Service plans

Featured Replies

I have just taken delivery of my Karoq and was looking at the Service plans.

Am I missing something with Skoda UK latest price hike for servicing? They have put up the price of the under 1yr old car Service plan from £279 to £342 a 22.5% increase, yet if you look on their fixed price servicing the oil change and Interim service are £99 and £169 respectively a total of £268. How does Skoda work out their pricing?

I had a service plan included FOC as part of my "deal". Unable to check at the moment, but I thought it was for 3 services, 2 interim and one oil change? I could be wrong....But its a very small saving if I am correct

The Fixed Prices prices need the T&C's reading.  Check what will get done in the price, and actually parts replaced.

*Cars 3 to 10 years old on Fixed Servicing'.*  But some will match or undercut on under 3 year old cars

&if at 9,400 miles / 372 days you just want a Oil & Filter

service £99 might suit.

1. Oil & Filter Change. £99

2. Interim Service.  £169

3. Major Service.  £279

You do not want to pay for a Major Service at 2 years / 24 months from new if all that extra being replaced is a Pollen filter  and no Plugs, Fuel or Air Filter,

only getting done maybe @ 40,000 miles / 4 years.

Then the Haldex might be at 3 years as is the Brake Fluid and that is not in a Service Plan and costs extra when the Interim or Major Service is done.

The current offering from Skoda is just 2 years 1x Oil Change and 1x Interim service, to me the figures do not add up, if it was an Interim and a Major service it would make more sense.I should have put it on the order when I placed the order last September, the price went up a lot in the January price increase.

Yeah, I made the mistake of paying £279 up front for £269 (retail) of services that are just 2 oil changes plus a check that all the wheels are still fastened on.

Their fixed priced servicing is for cars three years old or older...

However, my dealer will happily honour these pricing on younger cars.

They'll also price match within 5 miles.

They charge the earth because far too many people book their cars in blindly, then moan when they get the bill, by which point it's too late.

Do your homework, shop around and be prepared to bargain a little.

Service plans, especially those where you pay monthly, are rarely the most cost effective, but they are convenient. Convenience costs.
