1.2 TSI Oil filter

Featured Replies

Serviced my mums 64 plate 1.2 Tsi today. well oil change anyway.

Just thought I would post this, many may know already but for those that don't.......I bought the oil filter from local Eurocarparts, there is a couple of options but I chose the MANN oil filter.

Now I'm sure most are aware that the parts are made by hundreds of suppliers and just like the plugs are NGK it seems the oil filters are MANN.

Image below showing the 2 filters, (MANN on the left )they are IDENTICAL in everyway (except VW text etc)  ......even share the same coding, so if your worried about not using genuine parts, then this shows you can still use the same quality parts as genuine, but for less money.

Yes it is quite satisfying to find the same manufacturer's codes on the VW Group parts and the ones you have sourced at a much lowered price.  Only time I did not find that was on the air filter for the last versions of the old 1.4 16V petrol engines, absolutely nothing other than the VW Group P/N, very strange!

VW Group used to have parts manufactured by Mahle in their Scottish Factory.

The VW Group blow of contractors regularly or Contractors change where they manufacture.

There are many companies VW own or have shares in.
