EPC + Engine light on

Featured Replies

Hi my 18 plate Fabia  Estate SEL 1.0 litre TSI 3 pot petrol has just been towed into local dealer. The car has the EPC + orange engine Symbol come on and a warning that Adaptive CC has been turned off.  The car went into a sort of limp mode and would not go above 10 mph.  The wonderful AA breakdown man turned up put it on his computer he then rang VW with code he was told something to do with throttle housing known fault do not drive tow it in.  The local Skoda dealer are saying it could be a few days until the new part arrives. I must say Skoda connect were excellent, the AA were there in 30 mins. The AA towed the car into the garage and waited then gave me a back lift home.

I had only been back home an hour and a replacement car turned up all arranged by Skoda breakdown. I was hoping for another Skoda hopefully the Octavia as I fancy test drive but I guess I will have to struggle along with a Golf GTI.

The Skoda dealer were a bit vague about this fault and would not give me the code or exactly what has gone wrong.  Have I got a common fault?

My Wife just got rid of her mk3 1.2 Fabia as it went into a similar limp mode 4 times and she did not trust it any more after being badly stranded twice. She now loves her new 19 plate Fiesta

Could be anything... the adaptive cruise usually faults with anything related to abs/handbrakes faults. If it’s gone into limp mode it won’t be anything to do with cruise.
