Skoda/MORI Poll - annoyed!

Featured Replies

I’ve been sent a questionnaire by Ipsos MORI asking me to answer a series of questions about our new Karoq plus a lot of other q’s about me, including what I consider intrusive ones about employment and income ‘for classification only’. If I’d been offered a voucher or cheque, I’d have considered it but I’m not wasting half an hour so that MORI can be paid for my efforts! Cheeky s***s. Skoda has gone down in my estimation for hiring these people.

@Wimmy

Another member posted about this and i asked if they had given permission when their vehicle had a Software Update for the VW Group / Skoda to give your contact details to 3rd parties.

It is Skoda / VW Dealerships that often deny owners information on their vehicles and quote Data Protection.  Here i think they are out of order with Ipsos MORI & their 'Market Research' on 1.5 TSI EVO's and the updates.

Seeing as how poor VW are with IT, and possibly Ipsos MORI with Data Protection i would be say GTF.

Our repeated requests for information on our purchase came from 2 different organisations, one here in the UK and another from mainland Europe.

The number and scope of the questions were enough to see ‘em straight in the bin.

Volkswagen will tell the likes of the DfT / DVSA in the UK that of people that had the software update there were only 1% reporting there were continuing issues.

Well that was what was given in evidence to the Transport Committee that had Paul Willis in over the Emissions Scandal, then it was 2%, no idea what that would be after actual Private Owners cars were done and not VW Finance owned vehicles in the main, or cars / vans traded in so Dealership / VW owned.

I never fill in any sort of survey or give feed back etc.

Nowadays after almost every dealing with large firms an email arrives with "how did we do today" or similar.

Life is too short for me to bother helping them, and I'm too tight to even consider a reply without payment. Entry into a prize draw isn't good enough.

I've sent an e-mail to Skoda Customer Services complaining about the MORI survey, but will they reply? I did mention that I'm a member of Which? and will contacy them if their reply is not satisfactory.

@Wimmy   Have you signed a document giving them permission to pass on to 3rd parties your contact details?

Hi Roottootemoot. I signed several documents before and after ordering the Karoq, so I may have inadvertently  given permission to hand on my contact details.

Today I received the following reply from Skoda UK.  I'd told the Customer Services Adviser that I was quite happy to answer the short surveys sent either by the dealer or Skoda UK and as we now own our fifth Skoda, we are very happy customers, but expressed my disappointment at the intrusive survey sent out by Ipsos MORI. This reply closes the matter as far as I am concerned and I will thank Skoda UK for their response.

I had the same intrusive MORI poll after purchasing my Kodiaq. I’m like @windsurfer, life too short. I hate surveys just just as much as junk mail.

Don’t get me started on that topic...

Back on to the original topic. I mentioned in the three Skoda fora I belong to that £50 would be an appropriate 'fee' for completing the Ipsos MORI survey. This is the amount that Skoda UK then sent by e-mail. Coincidence - I think not! Now I've received a further request to complete a survey from 'Ipsos Loyalty GmbH', with a return envelope to Germany. It is less intrusive and the majority of the replies are by tick boxes. I will complete it, as I've been 'remunerated', but it's quite interesting that Skoda must (obviously) review comments on the various fora.

I've had two of these now. I have yet to get the time to fill it in but I think I will wait until the car is at least six months old before I do. Although all is now OK with my car with different weather and temperatures things can change.

They might get some interesting responses from the 1.5 TSI owners who kangaroo down the road or stall in the middle of the road. Shame on VW.

PS well done for extracting cash for a survey, you’ll have to give an unbiased opinion though!

I also agree depending on what they want to know that you need to fill in a survey after the newness has worn off a bit.

Hello Greenliner1. The survey concentrated on the car and I was prepared to answer it using tick boxes to complete it quickly.  I gave top marks throughout because I love Skodas and our Karoq is a brilliant car. Oddly, the annoying survey came from Ipsos MORI UK,  whereas the second one came from Ipsos in Germany.
