New recall?

Featured Replies

I entered my VIN into the Skoda recall page, and it's telling me there's a recall R/2019/303 - 5/Sep 19 "TOO LITTLE TORQUE MAY BE PROVIDED BY THE ENGINE AT LOW ENGINE SPEEDS".

Anyone had this applied and did it help? - is this finally a fix for the  infamous 1.5 TSI hesitation issue?

Thought problem was with 1.5 Tsi not 1.4

What’s the address for the recall website?

I’ve got a 1.5 manual so I can try it too.

I'm also called Andy but that probably isn’t important.

Funnily enough had mine, 1.5TSI in for this last Friday. Seems ok so far and was experiencing issues, especially when not warmed up.

Yes - you are right. Its a 1.5 fix only.

I found a recall site but it just said there was a recall, but no detail like in Peon’s post.

When I visited https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall and entered my reg, it told me there was a recall with no details given. I tried again without the reg but supplying the model and MY, and I got more info...

UK / DVSA Safety Critical Recalls are Recalls, and find out what they are.

They are Safety Critical and Registered Keepers should get a letter.

These should be EU wide.

Recall Actions / Service campaigns and VW / Skoda Secret Service campaigns are different.

Lots of Recall Actions, lots of Service Campaigns, and many being missed.

So.  Is it Recall or a Recall Action?  Depends if you get a letter.

A small and not very exciting addition to this..

Mustapha on Skoda live chat told me it would "improve accelerator response when pulling away and improve delayed acceleration". I asked him whether it was safety critical or could wait until my oil service in 1000 miles and he said that his system didn't specify but recommended it ASAP.

Just a little bit safety critical,

and no Recall but hurry up and get it before someone is killed and some VW Board members are up on Corporate Manslaughter charges.

Had the 24EV recall software update this week.

Seems to be smoother now when cold, no more kangaroo for me. No noticeable change when warm.

I had the 24EV fix along with oil change on Thursday.

Today I got an !!action required!! recall letter so they are informing people eventually.

I haven’t noticed a massive difference so far. Maybe a bit easier to drive smoothly when cold.

@AndyN1975

Was that a letter from Skoda / VW Uk on a Recall Action and the one showing on the DVLA website?

Strange that they show on Superb, Karoq, Kodiaq and Octavia and whichever they all show as 1231 possible affected vehicles only.

2018 & 2019.

Yes, It was from Skoda UK. Described itself in the letter as a safety recall and that they got my details from DVLA. Text about too little torque fits with recall on DVLA site.

Mentions the alternator and that torque is “used up” by aux drive...

Yep, got my letter this week, hopefully will cure the cold start 'bunny hopping' 'Kangarooing' has totally wound me up since I bought the car......Wife had her Karoq done last month and she says no more 'hopping'

So had the recall software (I assume software) update carried out yesterday, not driven my car from cokdcstart yet so will see, it wasn't particularly bad anyway and didn't do it all of the time.......

Should that be `cockedstart`?

If you like, more like cold start and my iffy keypad skills, but hey ho, I like cockedstart.....😉
