Fabia vRS MK2 compression test

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Looking to carry out a compression test on my mk2 Fabia as part of a range of tests to prove/disprove excessive oil consumption.

Does anyone know what the average and optimum readings per cylinder are likely to be?

Just need a benchmark for comparison.

Many thanks as always......

Only issue seems to be there's a fair amount of differing views in the responses. The consensus seems to be : test with plugs out. There a mention of throttle being open, removing fuse 30, etc ???

I'm guessing from reading this that there is no "exact" figure, but as long as the cylinders are more or less the same then that's fine......

dont know how it was done (as in method) but the tuning shop did it, mine was done after the oil fixes and after a remap, should have done it before the map really -but all was well.

Cylinder 1 = 164

Cylinder 2 = 164

Cylinder 3 = 162

Cylinder 4 = 162

Hi Kobayashi,

Although I eventually intend a remap, at the moment I just need to sort the oil consumption issue and how good/bad the engine is. The compression test was one angle to try.

As always, your reply and help is appreciated.
