Park brake auto hold

Featured Replies

Anyone had problems with brake auto hold (button)

My dash showed yellow triangle warning with auto hold fail.

Turns out the selection button seemed to operate wrongly - pressing it a few times fixed problem but could not replicate problem .

The button is in a stupid location, open to dirt and grime ( country car + dogs) .

Before I "fixed" it I contacted dealer to have problem identified and was dismayed to be told that there would be a "diagnostic " fee if no issue found of €100++ , for a warrenty repair.

As there is nolonger any warnings shown I'll give this a miss.

Have the issue logged by the dealer anyway for the sake of the Warranty.

They put people off by the threat / required payment if something is not covered by Warranty yet your Warranty T&C's says to report to an 'Authorised repaired'.

As it is if something was faulty it will likely be a Warranty issue and so covered, and if faulty you want it fixed so need to pay and if they are getting the job of fixing it they need not take an hours labour for diagnosis when they find a fault then go ahead fixing it.

So report the issue and be sure they log it and if the issue appears again get the car in.

This is what the Skoda Warranty in the UK says.

Take a video of the issue to prove it exists, if they try and claim 'no fault found' then show them the video and ask them to try harder.
