Got a new to me 2.0 litre diesel April 2019. 
when I got it it says 5500 miles to Adblue replacement. 
my question is how much will it take to fill it up with Adblue and is 5500 “range” normal for a full tank of Adblue. 
cant find anything regarding capacity in handbook.  

Tank is supposed to be 18 litres in the Golf but seems to be about half that size in the Octavia, usage varies but it seems to suggest that a tank should last around 10,000 miles.

It should say on the dash how much is required to take it back up to the fill the tank up

i haven’t seen any thing to show a top up to bring it back to maximum

You will need to use a bit more but eventually you will get a minimum top up level and a maximum top up level.

 

Not sure if its because my Passat sits on the motorway for most of its life but 5000 miles of range of Adblue got me maybe 11 or 12K miles

Should start seeing it about the 1500 mile marker

From manual,

The AdBlue®-tank filling is about 12 litres.

At 2000 miles left mine suggested min/max amounts
