Gemini wheels.

Featured Replies

Hi, has anyone fitted the Gemini wheels from an octavia vrs to their fabia? If so is it poss for some pics, I’m thinking of fitting some to my car.

Are the Gemini from a Mk3 Octavia vRS?

They have a different PCD from a Fabia that needs 5 x 100.

What other Skoda has the same fit end? Rapid?

Gemini only fit Mk3 Octavia from 2013 and Mk3 Superb from 2015. PCD 112 X 5.

I'm going to take a punt and say Gemini wheels will fit the MK2 octavia's as well.  They had the same PCD ( 112x5 ) and the same size centre bore (57.1)

What’s the center bore of the fabia? Can I get some spacers today rectify the issue?

The holes for the bolts are in the wrong place, spacers won't help.

You could however put on some Mk I Octavia vRS Spider alloys though. 16" or 17" available.

Thinking of using these?

They are fine for use in the right application.

But for you you are widening the track with spacers then likely wanting wider wheels and tyres.

So then you introduce the next issue, is the car getting lowered, and can the wheels fit in the arches, or are you rolling them, or fitting extended arches?

Simpler to get the 18" wheels and tyres that the car can take with the correct offset and PCD / Centre bore.

Like off or for a A1, Polo, Fabia.

Fabia wheel specs are as follows.

Centerbore: 57.1

PCD: 5x100

Offset of 7J wheels is ET46.

Offset of 6J wheels is ET38.

Offset of 5J wheels is ET35.

Cars with same CB, PCD & Offset;

Skoda Rapid

Cars with same CB & PCD but miss-matching Offset;

VW Polo, Seat Ibiza, Audi A1

Spacers Subtract from the ET offset. So to fit an ET56 7J wheel, you would need a 10mm spacer, as that would result in effectively ET46 offset.

This also should serve as a reminder that more offset = further in, less offset = futher out.

It's perfectly fine to get a wheel with a high offset, if it rubs, fit a spacer of appropriate size to reduce the offset. If you fit a wheel with too-low of a offset and it rubs, there's nothing that can be done.

Total wheel diameter (alloy + tyres), is ~600mm.

The speedo reads roughly 5% over. So you could go upto around 630mm total wheel diameter before the speedo will under-read.

Final thing, when you get new wheels, have your alignment done at the same time.

Wheels fit kind of, anyone know where I can buy shorter wheel bolts?

Do the standard bolts bottom out in your new spacers and not allow the wheels to tighten? The wheel bolts are fairly standard across the VAG. Don't think there are any shorter ones.

Are you getting the Fabia R5 bodykit too?

Exactly that, the bolts catch the disc as they bottom out, gona put this down to a bad idea and cut my loses, the wheels are for sale so I will either sell and buy fabia / rapid wheels or swap / exchange for the right wheel.  Contact if anyone interested

Slight word of warning, as per my previous post. These wheels have a total diameter of roughly 637mm, that's 6% more than the standard of 600mm, and is enough that the speedo will now read slightly under your actual speed.

It may be advisable to try obtain some wheel bearing/hub assemblies from an octavia, that way the wheels won't poke so far out. They look like they could rub quite horribly when steering hard (or even just at full lock when doing low-speed parking maneuvres).

Fair enough, personally i didn't see it working out too greatly.

The Fabia takes the same PCD and offsets as the MK5 Polo, and the Rapid.

The Ibiza, MK6 polo, and the A1 use completely different offsets, so be careful if choosing those.

They don't quite match the Fabia MK3, so beware :)

Believe me, i was looking round absolutely everywhere before i found the 17" Rapid wheels that i put on mine.

The difference were that the Fabia Mk3 18" are 7 J not 7.5 J and both are the ET46.
