Very poor for a brand new model.

This was a Skoda Octavia Combi TSI 150 weighing 1,555 kg.

I wish the site would publish fuller specs such as tyre sizes, brands, etc as those would be important factors.

For comparison.

Only a driver in there and if weights in the front passengers seat that is not a body height.

Did the Mk 3 pass this test?

Mk3 with Haldex.   2017.

Just as well that everything in life is not as bad as some VW's in emergencies.

Not one for use by Blue Light responders unless with modified or upgraded suspension. .

What about 2WD without Haldex?

As I said on other thread, I'm not exactly sure what the point of this Moose test is because it takes an incredibly skilled driver to carry out such a manouver. If any of us or even the vast majority of blue light responders tried it at that speed even on a low centre of gravity, 4x4, we'd still end up in the ditch.

If the driver from all of those cars walked away without injury - that then is a pass.  A failure would be something like the original A-Class. Or some of these...

PS - They show a Corolla passing the test but corect me if I'm wrong, isn't all Toyotas Hybrids or even EV? The Toyota will have a bank of batteries low down which reduced the centre of gravity. Simple physics tell you a large front wheel drive car is going to struggle, we don't need moose or elk test for that.

PPS - the original A-Class failure was well publicised. I believe Mercedes then added ESP.

@Scot5  I will try to correct you then.

All hybrids will be hybrids, as in Self Charging or Plug in and have an ICE. Usually at the front....  Battery pack and a fuel tank with fuel in.

All EV's will not be Hybrid as they will have an Electric Motor and Batteries and no ICE. No liquid fuel.

VW e-Up!/Mii Electric & Citigo iV are FWD, As is a e-Golf,

and the coming VW, SEAT & Skoda electrics models will be RWD or AWD.

Skoda had ESP as an Option on some Fabia right up to having to have it as Standard from the factory around 2012 i think it was.

Most other manufacturers had ESP standard on all models years before legislation required them to.

An Audi EV.

Tall & Heavy ICE Audi.

New Jimny no better than the Original or the next Generation. So as expected.

But i never rolled one, but then i never had the rubbish Bridgestone Dualers that Suzuki have fitted for 3 decades or ESP.

@Scot5 The "moose test" is something very Swedish. We have plenty of Moose in our country and in driving school you must learn how to carry out the manoeuvre that you see in the video. The "moose test" is part of "learning how to handle icy roads"-training and test and if you do not pass it, you will not get you drivers license.

In the 90s, there was a Skoda, can't remember what exact model, that flipped when doing this manoeuvre. Sadly, this got Skoda a bad reputation in my country for years to come.

But now times are changing in Sweden; Skoda is becoming one of the most common brands since our own, Volvo, is too expensive nowadays.
