Leaking coolant and no boost.

Featured Replies

Sorry I’m advance but want to cover everything, so 24/7/20 noticed where my car usually is parked a large what I thought seemed to be oil leak, had to rush out and no light on dash, when driving I got a warning light for my coolant on the dash, pulled over and was below minimum but still the tank was half full, so knew I had a leak hence where I had it parked and the warning, did above national speed limit and was fine no boost problems. Got to work then went to the shop, engine light on and wouldn’t let me take it above 3k revs. I got these alarm codes in the pictures Provided and one is obviously the boost problem, I could see coolant flicking out above the pulley for the engine but couldn’t see where it was coming from, and also thought I could hear air escaping from behind the engine! Totally at a loss tbh, any ideas or anyone been through similar?

Hi Tomsalmon.

Sorry to see you have issues but I am now gonna blast you, too!

You saw a puddle under the car, still drove without checks. Then, warning light came on, pulled over, saw coolant low but still some, then went OVER the speed limit?

Are you crazy? The whole point of the warning light was to show you a fault and then, sort it or drive gently and carefully!

It sounds like the car then went in to limp mode, to protect other elements of the engine/turbo system. You will be lucky not to have damaged far more then the initial issue.

It sounds like Roottoot knows about this, from experience so take heed but also, take heed of stains on the road underneath your car, warning lights, etc. With any issue, drive more carefully.

By all accounts, these cars are great fun to drive but costly and fragile, if abused.

Best wishes with getting it sorted and sorry about the blast but it will pay off in the l;ong run, if noted and acted on!
