What would be far more relevant to UK driving conditions is a test using the Skoda Octavia 1.0TSI (standard suspension, not lowered) on Goodyear G3 all-season tyres with temperatures just above and below freezing (including cold rain, snow and ice) on the following tyre and rim sizes:

 

195/65R15 6Jx15 ET43

 

205/55R16 6.5Jx16 ET46

 

225/45R17 7Jx17 ET49

 

Most drivers don't have a problem with their tyres grip on warm days. It's when the mercury drops below 10 degrees Centigrade and there's rain/snow/ice that things get difficult. It's also when those Ultra High Performance summer tyres become Ultra Low Performance winter tyres.
